to everyone who has taken the time to watch KNEE HIGH since its release, thank you.

i often struggle to articulate the enormity of this project to me, an epic told on the most intimate scale, through the eyes of cal melbourne. the script for this film felt monumental to me, unflinching in its quiet exploration of the human spirit and its resilience. little did i know bringing it from the page to the screen would amplify that beauty tenfold.

in making the film, i was a lucky kid entrenched in a theatre troupe of artists. it was hand-crafted by the most gifted motley crew of gaffers and production designers, script supervisors and camera assistants, each of whom treated the film’s script as sacred and our writer-director marissa vonn as captain. they took these characters and this story at its written word and breathed fire into it. their hard work is the fingerprint of this film, one i am more proud of than words can say.

as cal, i was entreated to endless golden horizons each day. and all the while i’d sit back breathless and think “damn, this is a view worth sharing.” those horizons belong to you now, too. i hope they take your breath away like they did mine.
