Today I visited Michaelergruft, a crypt located underneath the church of St. Michaels in Vienna.

It holds more than 4000 corpses and mummies, some in open coffins which are adorned with flowers or skulls, others decorated with Baroque paintings or with vanitas symbols. Definitely worth a visit even though it’s one of the lesser known crypts.
