My issue with it is just that it makes it more difficult to paint things with the BPelt Multifill and Flatten tool because the line is full of little white flecks, and that tool saves hourrrrssss of work doing flats.

Because most of the audience wouldn’t understand a post-scarcity economy, or even realize what the effects of having transporter/replicator might be. That and you still need a power source (dilithium crystals, magical limiting factor escape clause.)
Are replicators powered by dilithium crystals? I was under the impression they were matter repackers, using whatever atoms they had in their buffers (from waste recycling and maybe comet scraping or asteroids or whatever) to print out new objects.
