Michelle McDaniel Cosplay

I know that it might seem unusual for this blog to cover an outfit someone wore on YouTube rather than a movie costume, but it’s a cosplay of a Disney character, so I think it deserves a mention.

Throughout 2020, I couldn’t stop watching the YouTube channel, My Thoughts Will Probably Offend You, run by the wonderful Michelle McDaniel. She is a personal trainer, small business owner, cosplayer and proud pug (and chihuahua) mum. When I first wanted to lose weight, watching her videos helped me a lot because she sometimes talks about her binge-eating. Binging is a huge problem for me, and knowing that someone so fit has the same problem that I do gives me hope, even if I have to deal with this problem for the rest of my life. She has also motivated me to exercise more, which is great. Even if I just go for a walk in the morning, I feel much better than I would’ve if I just stayed at home. 

What drew me to Michelle’s channel was her awesome cosplays. A lot of the time, she chooses to emulate a character rather than creating an exact copy of their look. Personally, I love this kind of cosplay because it feels more original and creative. There are plenty of cosplays on Michelle’s channel that I love (especially her Gamora cosplay), but the one I fell in love with the most was her take on Cruella de Vil.

Michelle loves her wigs, and this is one of my favourites because of how pretty the waves are. The matching top and gloves appeal to me because I’m a sucker for colour coordination. The fur coat is beautiful; the spots are subtle but still go well with the character (it’s almost like a middle ground between the fur that Cruella is introduced in and the coat she wants to make out of the puppies). As for the bottom half of this outfit, I also like the black skirt and stiletto heels. In her original design, Cruella wears a black midi dress and kitten heels, but I think these new items fit well with the style Michelle’s going for. 

Cruella de Vil wears one of my favourite costumes in Disney history, and I think Michelle did it justice. I intend on continuing to watch her channel in 2021, and I hope she keeps delivering us these amazing looks.

P.S. Michelle, if you're reading this, I love you so much! Thanks to your videos, I’ve started exercising every day and making better choices with my food. I’m now 82 kg/180 lb (I was 98/216 back in July)! Keep being awesome!

I am binging this channel for some time and I am so entertained... The title alone: “My thought will probably offend you.”

Yes, the titles are very clickbait-y, but Michelle has a very level headed opinion on things, she is just aware that there is always someone, no matter what she says, who feels offended.

And she is a cosplayer. That alone is a reason to watch her. Her commentary in cosplay and some times also in character. XD
