Being a Michigan native: Where instead of being told "your accent is cute", instead you get "your accent is weird..." 😒
Anyone have an ID on this Michigan native ?
ATTENTION/Help!!!!!!!
Hey guys, do I have any followers/people who can see this post who are Native American who can message me? I need an answer to a specific question that I’ve attempted to do research on the internet, but all the answers are really vague so I’m not sure what to do at this point. I also need to hear the answer straight from someone with strong Native American heritage... i.e. Not a white person with ONE NA relative in their lineage from 100 years ago. I don’t trust that shit. Please and thank you, in advance!!!!
The South is great and all but honestly I don't want 70 degree weather in January
So I need the Odawa Tribe’s help. My father was put up for adoption when he was a baby and in the last five years we have been able to receive very little information about his birth mother. She granted us the information that we have large amounts of Odawa blood and that is all she would allow us to know. We have fought back but I think it’s to the point that my dad has given up. I’ve seen tumblr do some amazing things and I think helping me find my family could be another one of them. I feel cheated, I lost the chance to learn my tribe’s history, language and traditions. I’ve lost family, maybe aunts and uncles and fellow tribe members. I’ve lost the ability to confidently call myself a Odawa Indian. Ultimately, I’ve lost the chance to carry on a legacy of Native Pride in my community and family. I believe that if there’s even a chance of regaining any of this, I have to find her, the woman who start this all, my grandmother. I do not have a name or a specific area but I do have a time period. She would have been pregnant for 9 months within the year of 1971. My father was born in November. She is also thought to have been in some form of a relationship with a white man, most likely french or Dutch though there is a possibility that it was her that was part French or dutch. If this timeline strikes a bell with anyone then I am begging you to contact me. I would just like to speak to her once and then, if she prefers it, I will never contact her again. We’ve all ready gone to the Elders and they only flashed my father’s photo at one meeting before dropping the cause. My heritage means so much to me and I would be overjoyed if someone could help me piece it together. If you or someone you know has info please contact me at [email protected] Thank you
