i think i can help with this! at the start of 7x03, dwight is in his room, carving some little figurines while watching tv. I think daryl looking at the figurines in 7x08 is him realizing he’s in dwight’s room, not just some random savior’s room, and then he flips the chessboard table over as a “fuck u dwight” sort of thing. Although we never saw daryl actually /see/ dwight carving those little figures in earlier episodes so i could be wrong here.

hmm yeah i was thinking it was dwight’s room he was in but i wasn’t entirely sure. i think that probably makes sense. i’m not sure why else they’d focus on him looking at the figurines and then also flipping the table.
