I’m Coming Home || Ian & Mickey
It had been three days since a judge threw out the charges against Mickey for attempting to kill Ian’s bitch of a half-sister Sammy. Ian had been elated as he heard the news although he was disappointed that it wouldn’t get filed until Monday since it was Friday at six in the evening so no one was in the offices that late which meant he couldn’t take his boyfriend home right away. Mick had spent over eighteen months in jail waiting for the trial since no one on the southside was able to afford the bail so three days was no sweat as he pointed out to Ian. Even knowing that the next three days felt like each minute lasted an hour. It made Ian truly grateful that after leaving the courthouse he was able to pick up Yev and at least have the distraction of caring for him all weekend.
Now it was that day, the best day of Ian’s life so far, the day Mickey was coming home to him. The first day of the rest of their lives. He had spent time since he had dropped Yev off at his mother’s Sunday afternoon cleaning his little home and buying all of Mickey’s favorite foods. He had made sure their bed had clean sheets on it, bought a jumbo bottle of lube and their favorite type of condoms although he planned to ask Mick if he wanted to be exclusive partners without any barriers between them. He had also bought Mickey some clothes and shoes to wear to leave the jail.
Ian had brought them into the lobby of the Cook County jail and handed them to the officer who said he was walking Mickey through his discharge. He then sat in a orange vinyl covered chair much like the ones in his shrink’s lobby in the county jail’s lobby and waited for his boyfriend to come to him.
