Announcing MicroCREWS. A new venture I’m part of.
Shoot Safely Again. Small crews and remote production resources for the Covid world.

Experienced cinematographers with eclectic resumes who are uniquely suited to the current situation. The result is a filmmaker collective called Microcrews.
The team put their heads together to figure out how they could feel safe on set again. The solutions came quickly: get the people who couldn’t be on set to see what they need with camera feeds, crew communication, and video of the whole set, all through familiar platforms. They shared ideas for how to keep their personally-owned gear sanitized—and have controlled gear sharing. They developed protocols for proper glove usage, room occupation limits, and a “Covid martial”. The more they talked about it, the more the group saw how a model like this could benefit the entire industry and perhaps even be more effective. Small crews have always appealed to directors and producers, not only for budgetary reasons, but for their agility and small footprint on what they’re trying to capture. Large, efficient, and highly specialized crews will come back, but for now, staying small is key.
