At the Green Clean Institute, we are focused on the results of cleaning and the best ways to achieve these results. Our motto is “Not How To Clean, But Why We Clean.” This also includes whether the tools we use are effective or not.
One of the technologies that has changed the way we all clean, is microfiber. The results from using microfiber cleaning tools properly are undeniable. They do require a different style of cleaning though. Because of the countless applications for their use and significantly different designs, it is a must to understand what makes them different from traditional cleaning tools.
To assist in gaining this understanding and to help you make the best choices for your specific cleaning program, we offer the course Understanding Microfiber. This course offers a wide variety of information that describes in detail how to get the most out of your investment in microfiber cleaning tools.
Topics covered in the course include:
Types of Microfiber Wipers & Tools
Caring For Microfiber Cleaning Tools
Microfiber Study Results
How to Use a Microfiber Wiper
Microfiber Color Coding
Issues With Using Microfiber
The cost of the GCI Understanding Microfiber course is $20 and is available on the Green Clean Institute website here.
If you are thinking about making microfiber a part of your green cleaning program or already use microfiber, but want to find ways to make your program achieve better results, this is a great way to do so. The materials in this course serve as a guideline and instructional tool that leads to better cleaning.

Microfiber cleaning tools are an outstanding way to not only save money on your cleaning supplies, but, in most cases, do a much better job than traditional methods of cleaning. How cleaning microfiber works is due to its ability to hold a lot more dirt and soil in the fibers. This allows it to out perform and out last a cotton fiber or even synthetic fibers.
With the LCK50 portable, compact washing machine from Koblenz, you are able to take the washing facilities with you and hook it up just about anywhere. All you need is a standard 110 electrical outlet, access to a sink for filling and a place to drain the dirty water. In most cases a floor drain or even a sink will work. This very basic of washing machines weighs about 25lbs when empty, so anyone can pick it up and carry it or use a light weight dolly to move it anywhere you need to clean microfiber.
By being able to conveniently clean your microfiber cleaning tools, you can reduce the number of microfiber cloths and mops in your inventory, saving you money. Since your microfiber mops and cloths usually are already saturated with detergent and cleaners, you don't even need detergent! Just throw them in, add water and in about 10 minutes you can have up to 15 lbs of clean microfiber cleaning tools! Because microfiber is made of plastic fibers, you don't even need to dry them. The LCK50 spin cycle removes the majority of the water, leaving only about 30 to 45 minutes of air drying.
