Finished Micropublication
'Reflect' Interactive Mirror
My finished visual representation of my interactive mirror I developed from Chris' micropublication workshop.
In the end, I decided the product I have chose to develop was the Interactive mirror. In our workshop, we were given three sections; content, platforms and frequency. The three my classmates landed on, were; fashion, virtual-reality and daily which is how this amazing idea was conjured up.
The mirror is bought for a price of £25, screwed onto the desired position on your wardrobe and then plugged in to the nearest power outlet.
The user stands in front of the mirror, either holding or wearing each item of clothing they own and want to be scanned in to your interactive wardrobe. The user then simply selects the first item of clothing they would like to base their outfit for the day on and the mirror suggests what would compliment this garment out of what the user already owns in their wardrobe.
In addition to this, the mirror is linked to online shopping (keeping a history of your most frequently visited online brands). This is so that the user can be recommended online products that would also compliment what is already in their wardrob, thus saving time and effort online shopping.
One of the many advantages the mirror also has is that it advises people who are maybe not as fashion-orientated (perhaps someone who is disabled/eldery and cannot leave the house as often and physically shop in stores).
