Henny has been at the microsanctuary I run for one year! <3 Henny came from a nice home where she lived at a horse farm. She got to free range all over the farm. Sadly, she was an only chicken. Worried about her being lonely and getting hurt by other animals, her former owners asked if I would take her. After Daisy, one of our hens, passed away, Chicka, the last remaining hen after Henny, needed a new friend, so she has bonded with her. Which is good for Henny, since she didn’t really fit in. Henny is fearless. She isn’t afraid to stand up to the roosters, Bert and Ernie, and tell them she’s in charge. Henny used to sleep inside the house until recently. Of course if she wanted to she would be allowed, but she seems happy to be with flock mates, Chicka and Rocky. Can you believe that Henny is 5 years old too? This is such a shock since hens are known to have reproductive health issues and start to fail after 2 years old. She's such an amazing little hen! Henny, we love you so much, and we hope for many more happy years together!!
