It's finiiiiiiiiiished! (Watch me catch some glaring mistake an hour later orz.)

Set in Rise to Rule AU, this is more of a metaphorical pin-up type pic than an illustration of what actually happens in the 'verse. Charles uses his powers to protect their minds, while Erik uses his powers to physically protect them. :)

I had fun with the colouring technique. I tried to stick to a very small colour palette (red, blue, purple, greys, and yellow), so this is what I ended up with! I enjoyed the process, so I'll probably keep experimenting with that technique for other pics.

A Fly-by Post

Hello~~ I'm still alive. Just saying a few things and then running back to writing papers.

I wish I could be on tumblr and more actively in the XMFC fandom more often, but RL sucks, and now I have three papers to write, half a book to read and a whole story's worth of research on the 1920s to do.... :(

(Oh, and the gayness of Dorian Gray, I cannot. I just read this book for class last week and oh my god hahaha I was expecting but not expecting it....)

And I wish libraries in London were open on Sundays because that's when I do homework orz >_<

I'm easing myself back into J-rock, hence the post earlier with Halloween Junky Orchestra's "Halloween Party" (which, btw, I am OBSESSED with now hahaha)

To wind down for the nights, I've been catching up on my watch list, so I've been watching The Alphas (HA the parallels with X-men make me so amused) and Arrow (which I recommend, because Green Arrow).

X-men Big Bang drafts are due in two weeks! D: I'm determined to finish so I'm not dropping out, even if I only have...3k written and only one piece started for R2R. (Also, Microoooooo, where are you? ;D;)

I WILL attempt to work on and update Big Bro!Wes fic in the next few weeks, I swear D: It's been tough getting into the head-space to get any writing or drawing done, sadly. (A major problem since I'm taking a creative writing class =_=;)

Aww thank you guys *smothers with love* I'm totally okay; I'm just angry on behalf of someone and it's frustrating. I really hope things will get better for them too, but...*sigh* there are some mean, horrible people out there argh.

The Rise to Rule/House of X seal. XD

This seal~ (I only have the magenta version on hand, but it should be blackish purple lol) Which makes an appearance in House of X :) It's officially the seal of the "Royal House"!

I wasn't very creative when I came up with this, actually. I just needed something that looked badass and that would combine the M, from Magneto, with the X from Prof X. The seal is supposed to represent the combined House of X and House of M, even though those houses, as Micro and I have decided, are "unofficial" and not actually present, though it's that House of M sort of royal grandeur feeling to it that I was going for. The seal appears on all of Charles and Erik's official documents and royal announcements, and as seen already, the tapestries in their throne room~

So to create this seal, what I did was take the X from the XMFC seal, and overlapped it with with the M seal that they use for all the House of M issues (see for example: this cover of Civil War: House of M). I had to do some fiddling and a bit of altering to make the letters fit together, and then it took me a while to re-learn how to use the pen/vector tool on Photoshop (which I haven't touched in years), but I eventually came out with this :)
