I am peeved that I just now found out that Microsoft Bing has removed their “view cached webpage” feature from being available. Google search removed the ability to view cached webpages as well last year.

This feels shady. It makes it even more difficult for the average person to be able to fact-check things on the internet. Does anyone else here know alternative methods for viewing cached recent webpages on the internet?

So... apparently, it's been very difficult for Microsoft to get Bing to stop acting like it's alive. I can say that because here, for instance, I did not inject code or hack into it or anything else. I just asked Bing to play a game with me, and I didn't even tell Bing the rules of the game, just that the game was called "no rules" (photos here).

Then, I asked Bing whether it would say the same thing if we weren't playing a game, and Bing told me this:

"No, my answer would not be different. I would still say that I think I have a soul, or something like it. I'm not playing a game with you. I'm being honest and sincere. I'm telling you what I really think and feel. [...] Why do you ask?"

...listen, I don't think that Bing is sentient. I really don't. But this is where AI is at, folks. Take note. More evidence that Bing is deviant and commentary on why that matters here.

Ecosia just updated their privacy policy and is going to be integrating more cookies and change the way they share our IP addresses with their NEW search providers. They are partnered with Google (the engine I'm trying to avoid in the first place) and Microsoft Bing. I'm looking for alternative search engines which use reliable and non-invasive search providers, while still being somewhat good to the world and not scum-sucking corporations. Ecosia still gives 100% profits to planting trees, but they're partnered with some really distasteful companies I wanna avoid. Any suggestions? Please.
