The past weeks I have been in suspense. I haven't been able to write anything on tumblr.
Yesterday I received the hardest news of my life: I cannot be a neurosurgeon. It has been my dream for the past 8 years. I have done everything to get there and even got offered a residency spot starting next year.
Now, it turns out I have a micro strabismus that cannot be corrected and that makes my depth perception very poor. I had been having trouble seeing well under the microscope and thought I needed an adjustment in my glasses. I never thought that it would end up being this.
Yesterday was my second opinion. I have sent out e-mails to 2 people that would know if there were a way to fix it, but I have little hope. If anyone of Tumblr knows any form of therapy (experimental, anything...) for micro strabismus, please let me know.
After 8 years of dedication and dreams, I need to find a new specialty. Fuck.
