Mid Shot - Breaking Bad
Mid shots are shots from a medium distance from the actor, usually showing a part of the characters body but not all of it.
Different types of filming shots:
1. MID SHOT: Close but not too close. The shot cuts off the character at the waist and ads more attention to their emotion, leaving plenty of room for the acting to still take place
2. MID COWBOY: Medium Full shot: This shot was used alot in old fashioned cowboy movies. This shot is similar to the mid shot, however allows mroe room so that the hands can be seen and acted with. Also this scene can be taken as wide as the knees to get the full effect. Even can be on a slight low angle looking up for dramatic effect.
3. MID CLOSE-UP: This shot is slightly closer to the face than a mid shot, however slightly wider tha the stanard close-up too. The head is filmed at the top of the frame, usually in the middle or slightly off to either side and the shot is filmed only from the chest upward.
