The actor who plays Philip in s3 of The Crown kind of looks like my dad when I was younger
Imagine you were in the same school as Loki and you met when he saved you from bullies.
You became the best of friends throughout secondary school, always getting up to mischief and into trouble. You both had a crush on one another when you were in your mid teens, but it never went further than an innocent kiss. Even though Loki said one day you would both get married and he would look after you…
But you both lost contact after leaving school.
Many years later, you apply for a job as a PA in a large company. When you walk in to have an interview with the boss, you are stunned to see it is Loki. Your old school friend.
He is just as stunned, but he’s also gutted and extremely jealous to learn that you are now married… What makes it worse, is that your husband isn’t the kind of man that Loki thinks you deserve.
Your husband soon realises there is history between you both and becomes jealous and angry. Leading you down a horrible marriage that Loki tries to save you from.
A mchanzo merman au where both are merman :3 maybe they meet up by a shipwreck they were curious about when they were young (*^*)
((I have 2 McHanzo mermaid Aus. I blame mermay lol.))
The sun was just barely streaming through the water, the depths barely being visible even when the sun was at it’s highest. Salt water ran through Jesse gills as he swam lower and lower into the unexplored depths that were just off the reef. He’d always heeded warnings from his father to never go down to the lowest points, Gabe always warning that a kraken or shark or even another Merfolk who wasn’t so nice would be waiting to pick on the younger.
But of course, those were just tales told to scare Jesse away from the unknown. And as Jesse grew into a juvenile, young, dumb and blinded by rebellion and curiosity, he deemed that today while his father was gone, he’ d sneak off to see just what waited below. His red and gold tail flicked hard against the few currents that kept him at bay, but no rough wave was enough to stop him. He left the shoals, the coral and reef almost dropping off completely to be replaced by sand dunes and seaweed that went all the way to the surface. He carried a small satchel on his side, prepared to dig up and keep any treasures that he might find. Humans were always dropping things off vessels, some incredibly shiny and hypnotic. He wouldn’t be surprised that a few trinkets or treasures fell into the canyon like drop off.The dunes soon left, and before Jesse could think, there it was. The rocky cliffs that completely plummeted to the unknown.
when people act like 14 year olds are basically infants; a short P.S.A
First off, I don’t understand why 14 year olds are seen as so immature and young. 15 year olds are treated like fully mature adults - there’s not much of a difference yet people seem to believe there’s a huge one. First of all, puberty.
-Girls: By 14, pretty much every girl has gone through puberty and is physically an adult. While the emotional changes are still settling in, this is the same until about 18.
-Boys: While male puberty usually starts later, at this point about 70% of boys have reached the phase where they get growth spurts and start growing facial hair. At this point, most of the ones who are going to be tall are already tall and like girls, the physical part of puberty is usually done.
This might go against all those books on puberty you read where they tell you female puberty doesn’t start til 12 and male til 16, but trust me, I see this every day.
Back to the points. They’re 2 years away from being able to start a family and (in some countries) vote. In the U.K, 14 year olds can join a political party (I speak from experience here) and are on the brink of gaining financial independence, and in school, they’re studying for the first exams that massively affect their futures - GCSEs. They’re expected to decide a lot at 14 - what they want to do when they’re older for example, and keep in mind this is enforced by an institute that patronises them while telling them to “act their age”. What age do you want them to act, schools?
14 year olds get constantly treated online like they’re practically infants. People put them down, invalidate their opinions by saying “you’re too young to understand” and constantly belittle them to the point where too many of them are actively going out and participating in smoking, sex, even drug use, just to feel more mature. And guess what? All of this is blamed on the 14 year olds. Plus, they’re expected to be naive when they’re in as much danger as anyone else - how are they supposed to act half their age while they’re paranoid that they could be attacked on the street as much as a 20 year old, and while they’re some of the prime targets for online grooming.
We live in a society where the mid-teen years are both patronised and sexualised, often by the people who claim they don’t condone it. 14 year olds aren’t the only ones, but they’re the youngest in the age bracket so they get the belittlement the worst. And not only that, they’re blamed for not knowing anything about the world when adults try to hard to hide it from them.
Don’t hide current events from us. Don’t treat us like we’re babies while simultaneously telling us to “be quiet and let the adults talk”. Don’t refuse to take our opinions into account when it’s our future you’re playing with.
Sincerely, a disgusted 14 year old.
TLDR;; Us mid-teens are being told we’re “too young” to know what’s happening outside our own doors, but also being told to “grow up” and “act our age”.

“And what will happen if I fail? I know I would have to leave, but where would I go? What would I do?”
The girl’s face darkens, and she quickly turns her head towards the window. Towards the S K Y that will one day obey her every command, only she doesn’t know this yet. All she knows is that she loves the air, the thunderous clouds, the roaring gales, the gentle breezes. Wild, untamed, everywhere and nowhere all at once.
She turns back towards her mentor, her voice perfectly steady, perfectly even, in no way betraying the anxiety that churns below, that awful feeling of not knowing that has led her to address this matter in the first place.
“There is nothing out there for me anymore. Nothing and no one.”
