Oops. It took me months to finish something again. Oh well.
@bluebellowl This is the last idea I had for the whole “monster Cross” bit. Idk why I brought your characters into this situation or why I decided to use tension physics to pose Edith and Serif but I spent too long on the sketch. This took me as long as it did though because I was having trouble figuring out Serif’s skin tone. Tiefling. Too many options, lol. I hope I did Edith justice but as I’m writing this I’m starting to wonder if the blindfold is actually helping or if he can somehow see through it.
Fun fact as a side note: I just thought it’d be funny to give a devil spawn a name that phonetically comes out to “Seraphim” because why the hell not.
While developing a Pokémon OC I stumbled across @bluebellowl’s crossover AU involving the Unova subway masters and a character from Brawlhalla…I’ve never played Brawlhalla! 😀 But, because I like to develop characters by throwing them into other universes (including other people’s AUs) and seeing what happens, I did that, my Pokémon character became a D&D character and a beautiful rivalry bloomed from the resulting carnage. My husband (DM) and I had a brief conversation about weather or not we should replace Cross with a similar character but I felt the hate chemistry just worked too well with him and my Pokémon OC (Morrigan by name) just as it was. So we agreed not to fix what wasn’t broken and just dropped Cross wholesale into a D&D world… turns out he translates pretty seamlessly.
Hmm… he might wanna have that eye looked at. Now the only question is, “how badly would you like your ass beat?”
@bluebellowl, I’m only tagging you in this because I blame you for the abnormally high number of Pokémon characters that have been dropped in this setting. It started with the twins and spiraled from there. While this may be more of a consequence of my overactive imagination than anything that is directly your fault, I’m still blaming you for this.
Since “Floette” is the name of the species of Pokémon, I decided to give her an actual name (Magarilín) when turning her into a fairy dragon.
Bullet points below the cut.
He was resurrected in the spring the year after his death.
He was blinded in his right eye by Alvarus, his daughter’s omen hound (Absol) when he fired the ultimate weapon.
The team does quickly become aware of his resurrection though Corbeau is the first to find out.
He watches over the region as an unseen guardian and typically remains in the Feywild unless the region falls under apocalyptic threat.
Extra fun facts:
Corbeau is an archfey warlock (secondary class) and AZ is his patron though the pact was initially upheld by Magarilín due to AZ’s failing health at the time.
His resurrection as an archfey is the result of Oberon’s blessing which he’d received as a child.
“AZ never struck me as the kind of person to make casual jokes but, somehow, I feel like coming back from the dead and telling Corbeau first is the exact kind of thing he’d do to troll us.”—Naveen, probably
I’d also like to give credit to @lumiosemuseum whose Yamask AZ bares one or two similarities to this one (coincidental). Also because there are some bird motifs that might have inspired his hummingbird dragon wings (not pictured) but I’m not entirely sure. I just wanna give credit where it’s due if that is indeed the case.
Because I haven’t been able to work on art for a little while for various reasons, here’s a slight update to Cross’ stat block. It’s mostly just additions and alterations to his proficiencies.
(Side note: I base CR on proficiency bonus so it may not be a reliable scale for this character’s actual difficulty.)
@bluebellowl for Cross content. Specifically since you seemed to enjoy the original stat block.
