Hey y'all. This is a more serious post. Unfortunately, Gerardo Taracena has passed away this year. Specially just yesterday, January 31st 2026.

I can't tell you all how heartbroken I am to hear of his passing. As of now, there is no official cause of death that was released to the public. Considering it just happened, I'm sure it's to respect him and let his loved ones grieve. I may have not personally known Mr. Taracena, but he was a huge inspiration to me for any thespian work I did. Rest in Peace, Gerardo Taracena. You were too young to leave this early. Thank you for everything.🕊

I just found out that Gerardo Taracena, who was incredible as Pablo Acosta in Narcos: Mexico and terrifying as Middle Eye in Apocalypto, died last week at the age of 55. I was recently watching Narcos: Mexico for the 3,000th time and was again reminded of the depth that he brought to El Zorro de Ojinaga.
