Some of you realize that the economy for the music industry is shit - especially in America, but I don’t think you realize how bad it is. Since 1999 the collective revenue of the industry has decreased by FIFTY PERCENT! That’s a lot of fucking money, and in America, artists don’t get performing rights when they are played on the radio, but in Europe they do.
Many of you realize that Spotify and other streaming platforms pay the artist pennies on the dollar - not even - and some artists (Ex. Justin Timberlake) are deciding or have decided to STOP PRODUCING MUSIC! Guys, that’s crazy!!!
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live in a world where music doesn’t exist or is not being created, and I know many of you have instances when you feel like a song may have saved your life, but what if that song never comes?
