MIDI Jacket Uses Human Movement To Control Electronic Music
The creative minds at Machina have developed a jacket with a built-in MIDI controller that allows the wearer to control their music with body motions. No longer will DJs have to hunch over a laptop while playing their latest mash-ups. With this MIDI jacket, electronic musicians can interact with their music to create a better live performance. This is definitely something I would be interested in seeing in action live on stage. The only problem I can foresee is weather. How are performers supposed to wear this cozy piece of technology in the Summer heat at large outdoor festivals? Perhaps they could wear it over an ice-pack vest.
