Midnight Game/Ritual
Never play this game; if you do play at your own risk.
The Midnight Game is probably the most popular game. If you find the other paranormal games unchallenging and you want to go to the extremes, then this dangerous game might just be the one for you. The Midnight Game was believed to be an old Pagan ritual used as a punishment to those who disobeyed the religion. The instructions on how to play this game can easily be found online, but the gist is that you have to summon the Midnight Man and walk around your house while making sure you don’t get caught by him. If you manage to avoid the Midnight Man until 3:33AM, then you have won the game.
The game is not that complicated since the procedures are clear and easy enough to follow. What’s more is that, this can be played by more than one person so if you’re too scared to do it alone but still want to do it anyway, you can just ask your friends to share the misery with you. Just keep in mind that most of the people who have played this game included a warning to NEVER try this game. Some have experienced hallucinations and some were even left with permanent, mental scars. This game was so popular that it was even adapted into a (film).

I found the director on Instagram for the midnight man and he's posted some behind the scenes stuff.
I'm really excited I found these, because now drawing him is going to be much easier.
I recently had a dream that reminded me of the "Midnight man" / "Midnight game" from a couple of years back. If you don’t remember, maybe this will jog your memory.
HOW TO PLAY
*Time: Midnight – 3:33AM *Players: 1 *Location: House / building
*Items needed: -Something to keep accurate time
-Your own blood (From a pin prick to the index finger, for example)
- A piece of paper
-A pen
-A single candle that is comfortable to carry around and has a burn time of at least 3 and a half hours and something to light it with
-A can of sea salt
-Front door (must be wooden)
Instructions: As the name implies, players must start the game at exactly midnight (Give or take a minute or two for preparation) but cannot end it until 3:33AM.
First, go around your home and turn out every single light until you are completely enveloped in darkness.
Take the pen and write your full name clearly on the piece of paper, then prick your finger and add a drop or two of your own blood.
Put the piece of paper on the floor before the front door of your home, light your candle and set it down in the middle of the paper.
You will need to time the next step perfectly- knock on the door 22 times consecutively.
Open the door to allow the midnight man to enter your home, extinguish the candle flame and shut the door. Now that the midnight man is in your home, you must quickly relight your candle as it serves as not only a small amount of light to help you walk around your pitch black abode, but as an indicator that the midnight man is near.If the flame goes out, this is a warning that your guest is close by.
From midnight to exactly 3:30AM you must steer clear of the midnight man and keep relighting your candle whenever it goes out. If at any point you cannot relight, you must pour a protective circle of salt around yourself making sure there are no breaks in the circle. You must stay within the circle until the game is over. If you manage to light the candle, keep moving and do not remain static no matter how afraid you are.
Failure to light your candle or form a complete protective salt circle will allow the midnight man to meddle in your mind and know your weaknesses and fears which he will project into reality in the form of horrific hallucinations that will not cease until the challenge is over.
Remember, keep your candle lit and do not attempt to use a substitute item to illuminate your path, have your salt at the ready and KEEP MOVING. People who have played the game have experienced drops in temperature before their candle light was extinguished, the sound of whispering and the sensation that someone was behind or beside them. Many report seeing shadow people, looming dark silhouettes and figure standing in hallways and behind them in reflections.
Paranormal Games- Part 4
There are many paranormal games which have been explained by one person or another. Take the Charlie Charlie Challenge for example. If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years and are unfamiliar with this ritual, you take a piece of paper and two pencils and set them up like this-
-and say, “Charlie Charlie, can we play?” The pencil that’s on top of the other will move, pointing to either “yes” or “no”. You ask questions, and “Charlie” will answer them. When you finish, you have to say “Charlie Charlie, can we stop?” If it says “yes”, you can pick up the pencil and drop it on the floor to break contact with the spirit. If it says “no”, you have to keep asking questions and try to break contact later.
The explanation for this is very simple and has been figured out by almost everyone. The pencil is balanced on top of the other in such an awkward and delicate way that if the surface they’re on is even slightly tilted, it will cause the pencil to turn. The smallest movement- even a breath- would make the pencil move because of the awkward placement.
Another game I’d like to address is the Midnight Game. If you want to know how it works, click the link here. If the link doesn’t work, here’s the rundown: the beginning of the Midnight Game is done in front of a wooden door. You have to shut off all the lights in your home, write your full name on a piece of paper, and prick your finger to squeeze a drop of blood onto the paper. You light a candle and place it on top of the paper. You have to knock on the door 22 times, with the final knock occurring at midnight. You have to open the door, blow out the candle, close the door, and relight the candle. This invites an entity called “The Midnight Man” into your home. You then have to pick up your candle and start to move around your home. If your candle goes out, you have to relight it immediately, and if you fail to relight it, you have to surround yourself with a circle of salt and wait there until 3:33 a.m. If you still have your candle, you can’t stop moving around your house until that time. If you see a shadowy figure in your home, that’s the Midnight Man. You must avoid him at all costs. If the temperature drops or you hear any disembodied whispers, that means he’s near, and you must leave the area immediately.
There is a large amount of people who believe in the Midnight Game. However, there are some explanations for the things people have seen during this game. Then one that I personally think makes the most sense is paranoia. When you start the game, you think you’re inviting an evil spirit into your home, so you’re already on edge. It’s 12-3 in the morning, so you’re already tired. Mix together the fear of the ritual, the darkness in the house, and the sleep deprivation, and you’ve got the perfect terrifying atmosphere to completely freak out your brain. You might see anything and book it out of there as fast as you can because you think it’s the Midnight Man. And since you’re scared, your breathing will naturally be faster and heavier than normal, so it wouldn’t be that hard to accidentally blow out the candle, which makes everything pitch-black and bumps the fear factor up to a 10. The whispers you may hear could be from air vents in your home or a result of your now scared and over-active imagination. If you feel the temperature drop, there’s always a possibility that you left the air conditioner on or you’ve got chills because of the scary situation. In short, the occurrences during the Midnight Game are likely just a result of normal human psychology.
