Happy Monday! I don’t know about y’all but this winter has been a tough one for me because #seasonaldepressionisreal Luckily a quick trip to #Miami, a quick getaway to #Philly and a couple of unseasonably warm days has got me feeling and looking like myself again. While I’m the first one to admit that self care isn’t all face masks and bubble baths, I feel like makeup as self care doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I don’t wear makeup to hide my insecurities, I’m totally fine going barefaced. But doing my makeup means I have an entire hour (yes an hour) in which I do nothing but pamper myself. Sometimes a full face will act as armor to protect me when I’m vulnerable, or as a mask to hide how crappy I’m feeling but more often than not it’s war paint, showing the world (&myself) that I’m ready to dominate this day.
