It hadn’t been a date, nope, not at all. They were just getting dinner, then ice cream. Just… it just two people, two coworkers hanging out together. Except there these little butterfly like feelings in the pit of his stomach. He was fumbling with his words, and his eyes lingered on her lips on occasion. Stop it, he thought to himself, we’re just hanging out. This wasn’t a date.
Then it started to rain, Patty was prepared, and pulled out her umbrella. Barry chuckled, stepping under, and holding it instead as they continued to walk. The speedster smiled again, looking over at her– eyes lingering.
They were close, staring at each other, both smiling, both sort of– waiting for something. She leaned in first, and when their lips met he didn’t move away.
The kiss was soft, simple, eyes Barry felt content, happy, nervous, and hoped he wasn’t messing it up.
But. It was nice.
