Hihihi! This is my first time ever doing a request so I hope I’m doing it right… I was wondering if you could do a ‘how Soul Eater characters would react to you having a panic attack’! I hope you’re doing so well and I LOVE your hcs!

I've been feeling this exact way myself with the business of life and the stress to perform so I believe I can relate to this now more than ever I only felt up to doing some of the characters so if there was someone you really wanted and I missed them let me know and I'll make a part two!

Reader Having a Panic Attack

word count; 1,000 characters included; Soul, Maka, Black Star, Tsubaki and Kid

Soul "Eater" Evans

doesn't quite know what to do at first

depends on how long you've known each other

if you haven't known each other for a long time he would offer to get you to somewhere quiet and go get someone you're more comfortable with

if you don't want him to leave he would pause and awkwardly ask if you want to talk about it

"...so do you want to talk about it?"

if you two are closer to each other (whether that be friendship or a relationship) he would have more of an idea on what to do

like before he would either bring you to a secluded area or straight up kick everyone in the room out

would sit in front of you so that you focus on him

you have you breathe in and out for him

would try to crack a joke or two after a little bit to make you laugh

if you need physical contact when having a panic attack Soul would not hesitate to sweep you into his arms and hold you

he just needs to know how to help you

hold your hands, lend you some headphones or make you laugh so violently you forget about everything else around you

"it's gonna be ok sweetheart I've got you...it's alright I've got you"

Maka Albarn

Maka has a very calm and very logical approach to everything, including helping you through your panic attack

at first it's almost like she's reading through a manual

telling you to breathe in and out like a cycle

asking you about your day or the color of her shoes

or helping you gather your knees to your chest

it's all very methodical

if you need anything more than that she begins to worry a little bit

Maka, although she loves affection isn't the best at initiating it

she just isn't that great at improvising when it comes to emotions (or fighting sometimes to be honest...)

she will obviously do her best, you just might have to guide her a little bit which would be hard given the situation

Black Star

exact opposite of Maka

seeing you on the verge of a panic attack black Star's first instinct is to hold you close

cradle you to his chest and just hold you until you feel better

I think that Black Star would often wear bracelets of some kind on his wrists for the sole purpose of you being able to fidget with them

he'll remind you to breathe as you fingers methodically play with the friendship bracelet Soul made for him

if you need space than Black Star is a bit stumped

he would just start asking you random questions until you begin to answer back

"do you think Stein is so crazy because that screw is poking his brain?......n/n?.............n/n?"

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa

Tsubaki, like Maka is fairly calm

she naturally has a very warming presence and thus is considered a very comforting individual

if she is the first to notice something is wrong or you come to her she will politely and quietly excuse the two of you to somewhere more private

she'll try her best to not make a scene and will just leave without letting anyone know if you are more urgent

she would try to keep you talking; asking about your day, your feelings; just trying to understand how your panic attack started so she can get to the root of the problem

breathes with you, in and out, will maybe have you feel the pulse points on her wrists to try and get you to match her heart rate

once your breathing steadies she may go and get you some water and a snack

you'd share snacks and talk about just about anything with Tsubaki constantly reassuring you that your feelings are wholeheartedly valid

"now don't you worry, it's normal to feel anxious from time to time, especially with everything going on now a days"

Death The Kid

whether you are in a relationship with Kid or are just friends I feel like his reaction would be fairly similar

he would notice you shifting around and looking overall uncomfortable fairly quickly

he'd ask you if you're alright but if you answer that you're fine he might push the issue

"y/n are you alright? you're looking as if you're sick...now don't tell me it's nothing because I won't believe such a thin excuse."

if you keep insisting that nothing is wrong he will tell Liz and Patty that he is leaving and take you somewhere more private

he won't make you talk but he will be watching you intently

if you start to hyperventilate his gaze with soften and will have you both sit down

he might not know exactly what to say but he will try his best to stammer out some breathing exercises for you to do

if you start crying he will panic a little himself on the inside

Kid already not being the best with coping with his emotions at time struggles to help others with their

he will sit next to you on the ground or in a chair bumping his knee against yours

he doesn't know what to do other than assure you that you are safe

he will sing your praises with a slight blush on his cheeks, telling you everything he admires about you

"and most of all I admire how brave you are, brave enough to be able to deal with what you're going through now, right?"

and somehow it works, Kid is awkward and painfully hesitant but he really does mean well

he will coax you down with words and reassurances, if you need more of a physical support he may fall short but he will try his best to make sure you are feeling more like your usual self again

Wow it's been an incredibly long time since my last post Thank you all so much for continuing to interact with my account, I didn't mean for this to fall through the cracks but unfortunately life takes turns where you have to sacrifice some of the things that make you happy to stay floating But now that life is more stable I want to try getting back into the 'swing' of writing! Mifune's Musical Theming

'Avg darkduel' is one of the best tracks in the game.

I love and adore it so because it elevates and fits and contextualizes the scene on the shore, the climax of Ato, so so well. A classic duel between warriors; of impending violence and pain- but in this case not truly necessary.

There's considerable sadness and regret in the track; a tragedy of someone so stuck in their own delusions that they've trapped themself. So far gone that the only way they can be stopped is in a fight; more focused on the beautiful shore and beautiful night than his (percieved) impending demise.

Darkduel is Mifune, of the bitter, jaded, resigned man, drawing his sword for a fight he doesn't believe in. It's only on principle, only because 'that's the way it's supposed to go.' The song is his bittersweet wish of a beautiful ending to a desolate life, being granted.

He could draw no Chi Xiao, and he could never win against Hoshiguma's reforged Hanya.

By comparison his boss theme, while bombastic and frenetic, partially rings hollow. It's a song for a fight and more importantly reflective of the illusion. It scores a battle that was never necessary, one he insisted upon, and doesn't tell his real story or character. By comparison to his real theme, it's just one that illustrates the danger and lethality of his sword.

As a yakuza he was powerful and peerless till now, a master swordsman and tactician; but these things didn't bring him any actualization. He developed and maintained his skills to cut others down and compose deadly strategies, but never in service of something that fulfilled him.

Which is why, his boss theme feels one-note; it's him embracing the facade one last time, rather than ever finally growing past it.

I will be remembering their confrontation on the shore at the end of Ato for a long time, crystallized in my mind through this OST.
