I can understand this. I feel like there are times where - if I become distracted by something important or something that evokes a strong positive emotion - things can distract me from the pain of my migraine. The moment may be fleeting, or it may last a few minutes, but it's nice to think about something else for a few moments.
There's also a section where the author speaks about being irritated by every little thing when they have a migraine and are out & about. This is me to a t. Everything suddenly becomes a really big deal and it's very easy to snap at my nephew asking the same question for the 4th time, how loudly my brother is putting the dishes away, or the fact that my sister is standing in an inconvenient place in the kitchen.
