dean always loved traveling: the long hours spent on the road, with no one but himself, led zeppelin and sam for the company. he never needed more. * his soul was that of a gypsy, of a rambler, of a migratory bird, whose home was the whole wide world. while others may dream of a house, of a white picket fence, a dog or two, and the lush green lawn, he always dreamed of hot asphalt, nothing but the road ahead and the road behind and the endless fields on both sides. * he dreamed about sammy and him, having the whole world for themselves, with no one to save, with nowhere to rush, with not a single worry except for where he’ll get a gorgeous slice of pie and a full tank of gas. * oh yes, dean winchester was in his soul a migratory sort, the one who always found the way more important than the goal, the one who’s really always at home, wherever he went. * [his home always traveled with him, after all.]

That’s easy, Thank God for Tumblr! Its the reason I’m so close to Itch and the source of at least 90% of our inside jokes :P It’s being posted on ao3 here #spon

8. is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?

Most is defintiely Sam Winchester. I love writing Sammy ;w; Also there’s Oriel from my own original writing but whatever and least favourite is probably… Wow, I don’t have a least favourite

10. what are your strengths wrt writing?

Oooh I don’t know! I don’t think I have many, but I do know that I have a bit of an ear for lyrical intonation when it comes to poetry?

13. who are your favorite writers?

You, for one! Then theres also @synergygabriel, @ohdarlingifonlyyouknew, @gabe-trash, @syzygycas, @lucibae-is-dancing-in-hell, @aria-lerendeair etc., etc., etc., who are literally i n s p i r i n g to me

And my favourite authors include but aren’t limited to George R. R. Martin and J.K Rowling (especially when it comes to world building), Pittacus Lore, Erin Hunter for nostalgic reasons, etc., etc.!

Dean Winchester had never been one to take breaks, and so he’d never been one to go on vacations. However, when Sam and Jessica proposed he come with them to California, it’s not like he’d say no. That’s why he was at an airport, duffle bag on his shoulder, sweating because it was cold back in Kansas and it definitely was not cold in California.

“How do you live, Sammy?” he said as they left the airport. “Is it even possible to study in this weather?”

Sam let out a little laugh. “You’ll get used to it, Dean.”

“Yeah, as if.” Dean joked, but he had to admit: it was a little bit nice.

They talked during the cab ride to the hotel, and after checking in at the hotel the three of them sat in Dean’s room for a while just because they could. Eventually they all got hungry and decided to go out for dinner.

Dean was afraid they would end up at some fancy restaurant with a name he couldn’t pronounce, but luckily they ended up at a burger place right up the road from the hotel.

Dean ordered the biggest burger they had, fries and a milkshake because well, he was on vacation. Jessica got the same thing because well, she was Jessica. Sam complained about the whole place and got a salad.

“I’m glad you’re finally here, Dean,” said Sam.

“Stop being so sappy, Samuel,” Dean just replied, but a smile was on his mouth.

They just talked for a while; they had a lot of things to catch up on after all, even though they’d already spent a week at John and Mary’s house together.

“Any news on the love life front?” Sam asked eventually, a cheeky smile filling his face. And okay, maybe Dean had ended up buying a little bit too much alcohol and that smile was more of a drunken smile than a cheeky one because Sam had had a good amount himself.

“Nada, Sammy. I’m getting old.” Dean wasn’t as drunk as Sam because he had been drinking like a tiny bit more over the years, but he was in a good mood anyway.

“You’re not old, don’t make me feel bad for you,” Jessica laughed.

“I’m 26, Jess. That’s old as fuck.” Dean said with full conviction.

The restaurant had a bell on the door, and it ringed annoyingly loudly as a new costumer entered the little space.

Sam winked at Dean, but Dean was too busy observing the newcomer to notice. He was wearing a white shirt and dress pants, and his face was the most beautiful face Dean had ever seen, and he had sex hair. There was no other way to describe it. Dark, messy, fluffy sex hair.

“Go talk to him,” Jess said, just a little bit too loud.

His sister-in-law should have embarrassed Dean, but well, he had to admit it sounded a little bit tempting. However, Dean did have manners (sometimes, anyway) and decided to wait until the man had finished ordering.

The guy sat down at an empty table, and damn, that was a sad sight.

Dean walked over to him, ignoring the two other’s laughter. “Hey,” Dean said. He’d always been way worse at flirting with guys than girls.

“Hello,” the man answered.

He must have had the deepest voice Dean had ever heard. “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” Dean asked, and holy crap, how lame was he?

“Metaphorically, it did,” the man replied.

“Ahuh,” Dean mumbled. It was the weirdest reply he’d ever heard to that. “I’m Dean,” he said. See? He had manners.

“I’m Castiel,” Castiel said. And then his food arrived, and Dean became very awkward and just sort of ran away. He quickly finished his drink, and although he was bullied for the rest of the night, he had a good time.

When Dean went to the same place to get lunch the next morning, he told himself it was only because the burgers were so delicious. It may or may not have had something to do with Castiel.

Dean ordered, and found himself eating slower than usual. After the burger he ordered coffee, and after that he just sat there for a little bit longer. He was about to leave when the doorbell rang, but there he was, Castiel. Dean spent the minutes Castiel spent ordering wondering what to do. He hadn’t though to plan anything while he was waiting. Should he just go talk to the guy? Would that be creepy? Luckily for Dean, he didn’t have to decide. Castiel came right over to his table. “Mind if I sit?” he asked, smiling. “Go ahead, Cas,” Dean nodded.

Castiel’s lunch break lasted a little bit longer than he had intended for it to last, and Dean may have turned up too late for dinner with Jess and Sam with wet hair and a huge grin on his face, but he did have some news on the love life front.

i was tagged by unholyseraphs (the meme is mainly about fanfiction but i’m answering about my writing in general)

1. what are some writing tics that persist in your work but that you dislike?

oh god dude um. like compound sentences? this shit: “He closed the door and looked around the room carefully, taking in every detail he could.” i usually edit most of these and try to make them shorter or just turn then into two sentences, but yeah i feel like i have way too many sentences that are constructed like that

2. what does your id want? do you ever give in?

the fact that i genuinely don’t even know the answer to this question means my id probably always gets what it wants 

3. You have to erase one of your fics from existence forever. Which one and why?

i don’t know, actually. the one fic i did want gone i just deleted, so. lol.

4. how much do you trust the reader?

quite a bit, really. sometimes i worry whether or not i’ve made something clear enough, but my readers are usually pretty smart cookies so they get it.

5. have you ever written anything you would’ve backclicked if it’d been written by anyone else?

not quite backclicked, but i probably would’ve never admitted to a couple lol

6. what’s your guilty pleasure as a writer?

indulgent descriptions, probably. using phrases like “violinist’s fingers” instead of saying someone’s got nimble, dexterous hands.

7. be honest: are you mean to your faves, or do you go easy on them?

how much do they suffer? because that’s directly proportional to how much i love them. higher amounts of pain means higher amounts of love

8. what parts of writing a fic do you think are a chore?

sometimes editing drives me nuts tbh. you reread the same shit three our four times and then there’s still stuff you can’t figure out how to fix without a beta, but you’re so done at that point that you’re just like “fuck it, no one else will even know anything’s wrong i’m just gonna post it”

9. are there any unintentional trends in your writing?

i’ve noticed that i have a trend for making survivors. i traumatize the hell out of my characters and then make them climb back up to personal power

10. have you ever intentionally written a character as OOC to fit with a kink/prompt/story idea?

no, i really try to avoid this. if i want to write a fic with a certain kink or premise, i look at the characters involved and then twist the kink/prompt to fit them
