It was a well-known fact that magecraft was not, in and of itself, a pure magic. In many ways magecraft was a bastardised form of true magic, moliated and sculpted into a form usable by humanity or distorted throughout history into its current form. Throughout his lifetime Kayneth had sought to create a pure magecraft, something comparable to the magic of the past. The mage had truly believed he had reached that peak.
At least until reaching this city.
