Vacant eyes gazed at the walls of his apartment, clenched fists rested on his thighs. It was all he could do to hold back the tears. After a week of going sober from alcohol his emotions had spiraled out of control. He was desperate for a drink, he longed for the burning sensation tequila caused as it rushed down his throat. Without shifting his focus from the wall he spoke up once more.His voice was shaky, making it clear that he was overcome with emotion. “ Yet every morning I wake up and ask myself if I’m happy and it only makes me more miserable. ”
