“Mari is going to kill me.”
Alya tapped her foot rapidly, one hand wrapped around a silver pole and her other held her phone. She had promised Marinette that she would be at her house to help fit one of her newest designs. Unfortunately, she was supposed to be there over 2 hours ago! On her way over Alya had gotten an alert about a new akuma terrorizing Paris. Without even thinking the reporter rushed off to the scene. She had spent the last two hours videotaping the fight, interviewing Ladybug & Chat, getting a statement from the akumatized victim and updating the ladyblog. By the time she was ready to head home she remembered her promise to Marinette. She just hoped Marinette would understand.
The train pulled into the station after what felt like an hour and Alya bolted off the train. She ran up the stairs, through the streets and right into the Dupain-Cheng Bakery. She barely stopped to greet Marinette’s parents as she passed them on her way up to their apartment. Alya didn’t even bother to knock on their apartment door, instead, she just bursted in and ran straight up to Marinette’s room. Once inside she leaned over, attempting to catch her breath before speaking with Marinette.
“Mari, girl, I am so sorry! I completely blanked on our plans, there was an akuma and I rushed off to film and just- Ugh! I’m a horrible best friend.” Alya groaned, “Any chance I can still help?”
