The quartet looked out at the castle in the distance and watched as the old lady's face flew back to its owner in the town.
"That should be everyone." Charles said with a smile. "Let's go!"
The team made their way back to Greenhorne, but along the way, Dark Lord Stan interrupted the group. He launched a ball of darkness at Jimi when the rest of the team wasn't paying attention.
"No, no, no, no... Maynard! Charles! Charlene!" Jimi cried out. She closed her eyes and accepted her fate, but the attack never came. She felt a tap on her shoulder and looked up.
An androgynous man with glasses, shoulder-length gray hair, and a wizard's robe was right next to her. He magically held back the Dark Lord, who begrudgingly fled the area.
"Jimi! Are you okay?!" Maynard asked as he and the twins ran towards her.
"Yeah. This guy saved me."
The man waved his wand and some flowers bloomed. "They call me Great Sage Sophie. I'm a travelling wizard."
"Are you like Gandalf?" Maynard asked.
"In a way. I hope you fools won't have to fly." he chuckled.
"Who are you calling fools?!" Charlene shouted angrily.
"You've never read or seen Lord of the Rings?" Jimi asked. "Gandalf says 'fly you fools' before he dies."
"Dude, spoilers!" Charles joked.
"You literally have psychic powers." Charlene said in a deadpan voice.
While the twins were bickering, Sophie awkwardly left. The team quickly regrouped and made their way back to town. Mayor Dudley thanked them and gave them a letter of introduction for the castle guards.
The team headed to the castle to inform the king and found a group of butterflies and goblins attacking a fiery unicorn. The team easily defeated the enemies and helped the horse, whom Jimi recognized as a Rapidash.
The team didn't know what to do with Rapidash, since the inn didn't have a stable. Jimi's amulet suddenly glowed light pink and a stable was added. She smiled and led Rapidash to his room, then she decided to sleep in the stables as well.
"Thank you, inns deity." she said before she drifted off to sleep.
Jimi had a dream about Maynard, her human companion Ignatius, and an oni named Ogerpon. They were in a void, battling a sun monster with Sophie's face. They were in rough shape when the monster unleashed his final attack. Maynard, Ignatius, and Ogerpon had their faces stolen, then Jimi got her face stolen.
Jimi woke up and began to whimper and cry. Rapidash heard her and went over to check on her. He rubbed his face against hers and made a happy noise.
Jimi purred and ran her paw down Rapidash's back. His mane was warm, but surprisingly, it didn't burn to touch. Eventually, Jimi hugged him and fell back asleep.
