I want to preface this by saying that I made this a few years ago, at 16 years old. But my writing has gotten better and I might reshape and continue. But Here it is Chapter 1.

Walking into the building, with her head held high confidence in every step she took, looking around as if she was looking for someone. Unsatisfied to find that the person she was searching for wasn't even there, deciding that since she was already there she might as well get a drink. Walking up to the bar she spots two familiar faces and decides to approach them after grabbing a drink. "What can I get you miss?" "Bourbon and your number if you would?" This made the boy chuckle as he fixed her drink and handed her a napkin with his number on it. Grabbing her drink and the napkin, she started walking to the table with her two 'friends' and some others. "Well look who it is, " the girl said, chuckling, bringing the attention of the whole group on her. "Should've known if she was here you weren't far behind" "Aw Damon don't be like that" She looks around the table eyes landing on a certain boy "Well Hello There" she says while remaining eye contact, "Leave the kid alone" "Ah as always ruining my fun Stefan, well as much as i would love getting to know him, that can wait. May I speak to the two of you alone?" Her facial expression changed from a playful flirty to a serious expression, which told them this was urgent. The two brothers get up from their seats walking away with the mysterious girl outside. Elena turns to Bonnie and Caroline, a little jealous of this mystery woman who came and with one look got both of brothers to walk away with her and no protests coming from either. "Who is she?" "Maybe a friend of theirs " Caroline tried to reason to stop her friend from worrying.

“Have you seen Katherine?”
“Sadly we have”
“Great, where is she??”
“Don't know “
“Ugh”
She was obviously upset with their answers. Until her phone rang, checking the caller id to see the very person she was currently looking for calling her. Answering the phone ‘I’m guessing that you're here, am i right?’ “You are, Where are you?” ‘Grabbing something to eat at the moment’ “Great, meet me at my old house in a few few” ‘K, Bye’ “Bye”. Hanging up the phone clearly annoyed at her friend, “Mind if I join you and your friends for a little?” “Not at all”. Damon puts his arm around the girl's shoulder and walks back in with Stefan right behind them. When they arrived at the table Damon pulled her to the seat next to him while Stefan sat with Elena and Bonnie. “I should probably introduce myself, I’m Y/N Marie Evans an old friend of these two brothers.” “By old friend do you mean a vampire?” “Ah I see you're in the loop but I’m actually older than these two” “Huh older?” “Ah i was turned the same time as Katerina to be exact” Suddenly her phone rings, “Ah speaking of the devil” Answering the phone, ‘I’m here’ “Alright I’m on my way” Hanging up. “Well I’ve got to go, this has been lovely” she said, getting up from her seat but not without giving Damon a kiss on the cheek and sliding a napkin with her number on it to the younger Gilbert with a wink. Walking out of the Grill with the same confidence as she walked in.

As she pulls into her driveway, she spots her best friend Katherine Pierce, it’s been only about six months since she last saw her but she still misses her friend dearly. Turning her car off and rushing out to hug Katherine, “Woah slow down, I’m not going anywhere” “Ugh shut up Kat”.The two girls began laughing before hearing a phone ring,”Just can’t be great can we” y/n said causing Katherine to laugh once again, “Sweetie that’s your phone” katherine informed her pointing toward the girls purse. Grabbing her phone from her purse looking at the caller Id, seeing another one of her friends Hayley, who she met while traveling. “Hey Hayley, what’s up?” ‘Y/n, where are you?’ hearing her friend's panicked tone began to make her worried “I’m in Mystic Falls, Are you okay?” ‘I-I, when are you coming back’ “I was gonna come back in 2 weeks , Do I need to come back sooner ?” ‘If you could, but if you can't, it's fine.'' “I’ll be there in a week, will that be okay?” ‘Yes please be safe, bye’ “You too, Bye”. With the call disconnected, Katherine asked her best friend what happened, just for her to respond by shaking her head and waving her hand dismissively, “I dunno Kat, but what I do know is that I definitely need a drink, let’s go in shall we.” Katherine smiled at her friend, hooking her arm onto hers as they walked up the stairs of Y/N’s house and went inside.

“Come on Marie, we have to hurry before he gets back” the brunette told her friend as she was putting her last few items into her trunk.
“Katerina please I’ll talk to him, we don’t have to run” the girl says, grabbing her friend’s hands into her own.
“No you don’t understand, he will kill me and I refuse to leave you here. You're like a sister to me please just finish packing Marie” removing her hands from her friends she walks over to Marie’s trunk and puts her remaining items into it.
“No you run, I’ll meet you when it’s safe” Looking straight into the brown eyes of her friend about to say something else before it suddenly went dark.
“Miss Petrova and Miss Ev-AH” One of the maids that was sent to assist the two girls during their stay, happened to walk into the room straight after Katerina knocked out Marie.
“Lucille dear come here” she began to compel the poor girl “You will forget you every saw this and help me”
“Yes Miss Petrova” Lucille helped Katerina by grabbing the trunks and placing them in the carriage while she carried Marie placing her carefully inside of the carriage.
“Lucille, you will tell no one that you saw us tonight and will forget your participation in our escape. Goodbye.”

“Hey Kat, do you ever wonder what he would have said if I talked to him ?” y/n said looking at her friend who was sitting next to her on the couch.
“No and you shouldn’t either. I’m still not free from him and I-” suddenly these a loud crash, the sound of glass breaking. Causing the two girls to rush up from their spots readying themselves to take on whatever it was.
Stumbling in was a very intoxicated Lillian coming from the backdoor which is located in the kitchen, “Oh I-I didn’t know you were back in town” said Lillian as she tries to stabilize her balance on the frame of the dining room entryway. “Geez Lillian, are you drunk?" said y/n, walking towards the girl. Finally reaching her and picking her up.”I-I didn’t mean to drink that much” said Lillian while resting her head on Marie’s shoulder. “You are going to be the death of me".

Summary: It’s the day after the Salvatore’s locked you in their basement and it’s time for you to make a choice, you just hope that you’re making the right choice.
Klaus stood outside the Salvatore’s house with his hands on his hips and a disgusted look on his face as he stared up at the house. He had traveled clear across the whole town as he followed your scent going where it was the strongest and smelled the most wolfish and he’d followed it all the way here, of all places you just had to turn here. Though he’d be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy the irony in the situation, didn’t enjoy the fact that Damon the hater of all werewolves had one turn in his very basement and fuck up his front door if not the rest of his house. He couldn’t have planned something better himself if he had tried. Smirking to himself he dropped his hands to his side and stalked towards the house a certain swagger in his steps as he did so though there was also curiosity as to why here of all places would be where you turned. After all you’d made it very clear to him that you didn’t want your friends to know, that you wanted to keep this a secret from them, wasn’t that the whole reason you had agreed to come over that first time you turned and tonight had other things not come up? So why turn here of all places, you would have been better of turning at home in your own back yard than here.
Stepping over the broken bits of door he calmly walked into the house casting a glance around to see that you hadn’t completely destroyed the place like he’d originally thought you would have. After all when in there wolf forms werewolves were never truly cautious about what they ran into, they didn’t need to be, so they tended to just smash and run as they saw fit. Not you though, no you seemed to have only had one thing in mind and that was getting out and finding the Salvatores a side effect of a werewolf marking someone he supposed. Coming to a stop in the entrance to their living room he cast a glance around as he took in a deep breath trying to catch a whiff of your scent as he did and as soon as he did he was moving towards the basement. Where that door had also been broken to bits and calmly he walked down the stairs to find that one of the doors at the end of the hall had also been broken off its hinges and he was seriously beginning to think that your wolf form had a thing for breaking doors. As he walked down the hallway he looked around noticing that you hadn’t been nearly as careful getting out of here as you had been upstairs there were scratch marks and cracks and dents in the walls where you had scrambled to get your barring and feet under you after having broken the initial door. Unfortunately though there was nothing he could do to hide those, so they were just going to have to hope that the Salvatore’s wouldn’t notice them.
Stopping in the doorway that you had broken the door off of he looked into the room his gaze falling almost immediately to your shredded clothes that lay piled up on the floor atop a set of claw marks that had seemingly been gouged into the floor. The sight of your clothes and of the claw marks had a deep anger rising up in his chest turning steadily turning into a roaring fire the longer he stood there just staring at your clothes. This wasn’t how it was meant to go for you. You weren’t meant to turn down here locked away inside some would be dungeon like you were some common monster because you weren’t. In Klaus’ eyes you were the farthest thing from a monster that there was, and he would know after all he’d basically invented the term. But needless to say this wasn’t how it was supposed to go for you, you were supposed to turn with him, out in the field and the fact that you had been robbed from that most likely unwillingly robbed of it angered him and hurt him almost like he was the one that had been betrayed and not you. Shaking himself from his thoughts he stooped down and swiped up your torn up clothing before promptly storing it inside his jacket in one of the pockets it was then that he noticed your phone not laying to far away face down on the floor underneath the cot on the back wall. Brow furrowing Klaus moved over to the cot and picked up your phone, turning it over he saw the screen now had a rather long crack running diagonally across it but when he pressed the power button it still turned on so he was going to count that as a win in your book. Standing there he took one last look around the cell to see if your wolf had left anything else behind and when he didn’t find anything he went to go leave but before he could the sound of someone walking into the house caused him to pause.
“What the hell?” A smirk spread across Klaus’ face at the sound of the anger and confusion in Damon’s voice and he took a step back towards the cot as he cast his gaze to the ceiling listening as Damon took a few more steps into the house.
“(Y/N)?!” Damon shouted and not a moment later he was standing in the doorway his body tense and ready for a fight. Shock flashed across his face when he saw Klaus standing there instead of (Y/N) but that shock was quickly replaced with anger as he growled low in his throat and took a step towards him his hands balling into fists.
“What did you do to her?” He growled and Klaus smirked as he looked him over, it was cute Damon thinking he stood any real chance against him right now.
“Done what to who?” Klaus asked his voice full of cockiness as Damon growled again the faintest hint of black veins appearing underneath his eyes as he took a step towards Klaus.
“Don’t play dumb with me, you know who I’m talking about. (Y/N). Where is she? What did you do to her?” Damon bit out the black veins becoming more prominent underneath his eyes as he took a step forward. Klaus grinned as he turned and walked towards the other side of the room causing Damon to tense up even more if that was possible and follow him, not daring to move too far away from the door way now.
“Ah, yes, well I can assure you that (Y/N) is more than safe my hybrids saw to that as for what I’ve done to her? Nothing. Nor do I plan on doing anything to her, however it appears that the same thing can not be said for you or your brother if that panicked phone call I received from (Y/N) was any indication of that.” Klaus stated as he paid close attention to the way that Damon’s body tensed his hands balling into fists even as the black veins underneath his eyes disappeared and for just a moment Klaus could have sworn he saw fear flash across his face before it was replaced with anger.
“Where is she? I swear if you’ve hurt her I’ll-” But he was cut off as he grunt the full force of Klaus’ body slamming into him as Klaus grabbed a hold of him and pressed him against the wall with Klaus forearm against his neck immobilizing his head.
“You’ll what? You’ll kill me? I’d love to see you try because from where I stand the only one here in risk of dying right now is you, and after what you did to (Y/N) and the threat you just tried to make against me I’m not feeling particularly inclined to let you live.” Klaus commented and again he watched as fear, betrayal, and uncertain, flashed across his face before it was replaced once again with that stubborn and unrelenting anger. It was official to say that Klaus’ curiosity was officially peaked and that he had been right, there was certainly more to this situation than met the eye and he couldn’t wait to question you about what had happened.
“So why don’t you huh? Why don’t you go ahead and kill me right now? Looks like you’ve got a pretty clear shot at it to me.” Damon taunted him and Klaus gave him an almost feral grin as he raised his other hand up placing it on Damon’s chest the silent threat enough to make Damon think twice about any escape plan he could be formulating right now.
“Oh, there is nothing I would enjoy more right now than ripping you apart and that would be just because of that little stunt you pulled at the grill stabbing my brother with a dagger isn’t nice Damon.” He stated as he added a little more pressure to his forearm, just barely starting to cut off Damon’s air flow.
“Never said I… was nice… so what’s stopping you from killing me if you’re all about revenge for our botched plan?” Damon quipped back and Klaus almost feral grin grew manic as it spread further across his face.
“That would be (Y/N), you see for some inconceivable reason she still seems to consider you and your brother to be her friends despite what it is you’ve done to her tonight so even though I would enjoy tearing you limb from pathetic limb I don’t wish to upset her any more than you’ve already managed to do, but there is one thing that I would like to get across before I let you live tonight.” He stated as he lifted his hand off of Damon’s chest. Confusion and concern grew in Damon’s eyes as he glanced to Klaus raised hand.
“Oh? And what would that be?” He asked all cockiness and self assuredness that had Klaus smirking and before Damon could say anything else Klaus was punching his hand through Damon’s chest wrapping his hand around Damon’s heart. Damon grunted in pain his eyes screwing up tight for a moment before they snapped open with a stuttering gasp as he struggled to breath through the pain of Klaus grabbing ahold of his heart and the forearm that was crushing his windpipe.
“If you ever, do anything like this again to her, hurt her in anyway again, and I will not hesitate to tear you apart, do you understand?” Klaus growled out as his claws started growing, digging into Damon’s heart making him grunt in pain as his feet kicked against the floor trying to push himself away from Klaus but at the same time threatening to rip his own heart out.
“I asked you a question Damon, I highly suggest you answer it should you wish to continue living what you call a pathetic excuse for a life.” Klaus threated pressing his nails in further as he gave a light tug at his heart and Damon grunted again panic rising in his throat as Klaus gave a sharper tug when he didn’t immediately answer his warning.
“Alright! Alright! Ok! I get it! I understand! I understand!” He grunted out finally and Klaus smiled as he released Damon’s heart and yanked his hand free from his chest.
“Good boy.” Klaus said as he reached up and patted Damon’s cheek, smearing his own blood across his face and before Damon could blink Klaus was gone leaving him standing there alone in the cell.
Klaus slowed to a walk as he approached the mansion his brow furrowing when a ding sounded from his pocket, reaching in he pulled your phone out thinking that it was one of your friends trying to get ahold of you. Damon no doubt having informed them that he’d taken you. He came to a stop completely now though when he didn’t see any notification lighting up your screen which only made his brow furrow more and he returned your phone to his pocket before pulling out his. The only people who would be messaging him right now where either his family, who would rather wait for him to return to yell at him about whatever it is he’s done wrong now, or his contacts but as far as he was aware he wasn’t working on a plan right so there was no need for them to message him. So who the hell was messaging him at this time of night? Lighting up his screen his eyes widened slightly when he saw several text messages from you each one more panicked than the last one. Some of them were you trying to get his attention, others where you trying to warn him of what your friends were planning, what they had done to you, and then it delved into panic again as you all but begged him to come and save you. A low growl rumbled up in his chest as he read your texts his grip tightening on his phone to the point where it threatened to crack. Now that he had more pieces of the puzzle and was starting to see the full picture, he was heavily regretting having not torn Damon apart when he’d had the chance. They were going to pay for this, he would make sure of that but for now he needed to find you.
“Where is she?” Klaus all but shouted as he stormed into the house slamming the doors open causing both Elijah and Kol to jump the two of them turning to face him with surprised and confused expressions on their faces.
“Niklaus what is-”
“Where is she?” He bit out cutting Elijah off causing his brother to look at him in annoyance despite the confusion he was feeling at Klaus question.
“Where is who Niklaus? What is going on?” Elijah pressed on not one to be deterred by his brother’s pushiness. Klaus responded to Elijah’s question with an annoyed glare of his own before focusing on Kol who was just now coming to understand what it was that Klaus was going on about.
“If its the wolf girl you’re talking about she’s not here, and no I don’t know where she went after you tackled her.” Kol answered both his questions the asked one and the one that he could see brewing in his mind. Klaus growled in annoyance before spinning on the ball of his feet and stalking back out the door. Elijah opened his mouth to say something as he started following after Klaus but before he could get very far or say anything, Kol was grabbing his arm and pulling him back. He gave Kol an annoyed glare but Kol just shook his head in response this was going to be one of those rare situations in which they had to let Klaus do whatever it was that Klaus wanted to do and then deal with the aftermath whatever that may be.
Klaus walked back towards the fountain his eyes bouncing around the drive to see if you were hiding in the bushes anywhere and when he didn’t see you he huffed out an annoyed sigh. You weren’t going to make finding you easy where you? He supposed in your mind he deserved it after all he’d stopped you from killing the Salvatores this evening something he now realized was a mistake. Pausing at the fountain he took another look around the drive trying to think of where you could have gone before he was speeding off heading to the one place you could possibly think to go too however when he arrived at the field you where no where in sight.
“Damn it.” He cursed as he kicked the ground in frustration his hands falling to his hips again as he scanned the field. There is over 70 acres of land for you to hide in, for you to be running around in right now and there was only an hour, if that left of the full moon. Meaning you would be turning back soon and if he didn’t find you soon there was a very real chance that you might end up spending the night out here and this was not the time of the year to be doing that. Huffing out a frustrated sigh he closed his eyes and focused on his hearing trying to see if you where anywhere near by and when that didn’t work he turned his attention to his sense of smell. He stood there for a few moments growing more and more frustrated when he didn’t immediately pick up on your scent and at this point in the evening he was heavily considering chipping you if you were going to keep disappearing on him like this. Then finally he caught a whiff of your scent when the wind shifted and immediately he started following it chasing after it as it got stronger and stronger the deeper into the woods he got.
Stepping into a small clearing at the very edge of the property, miles away from the mansion his eyes widened when he saw you laying curled up in your human form covered in dirt and blood in between two deer carcasses. One of the deers had been completely licked clean of all of it’s meat while the other one looked like it had been torn apart in a fit of complete and utter rage leaving body parts and bits of intestines scattered about the clearing. He couldn’t help the low whistle that escaped him as he looked around, truly it was impressive the amount of carnage that you’d been able to do to one body there was a surprising amount of rage hidden inside your body though he supposed he shouldn’t be surprised werewolves were notorious for their tempers. Taking off his jacket he walked up to you and laid it over you and he tucked it underneath you before he picked you up off the ground cradling you against his chest. You moaned softly when he had picked you up and he froze as you subconsciously curled up more as you nuzzled into his chest. A small smile spread across Klaus’ face as he watched you make yourself more comfortable before he tightened his grip on you and then sped back to the mansion.
“Ah Nik, there you are, listen we have something im- is that (Y/N)?” Rebekah asked her face morphing in concern and confusion when she noticed who and what Klaus was holding almost protectively against his chest. What the hell had happened to you? And why the hell was his brother carrying you in his arms when you were so clearly naked underneath his coat? What the hell had his brother done to you? Rebekah was only slightly surprised by the concern and protectiveness that she felt towards you because she may have hated Elena’s guts and found just about everyone else annoying in that little groups of her but she actually kind of liked you. After all out of everyone in that group you were the only one who seemed genuinely nice, especially to her, and you didn’t make her want to tear her own hair out in annoyance and frustration.
“Yes.” He stated as he adjusted his hold on you, moving him closer to you as he started walking towards his siblings intending to move past the both of them and up to his room however before he could get very far Rebekah and Elijah were blocking his path. Both of them were looking at him in suspicion their gazes pointedly moving from you to him and back again.
“What happened to her? What did you do to her Niklaus?” Elijah asked at the same time that Rebekah asked; “What did you do? Why does she look like that? Give her to me.” Rebekah moved to take you from Klaus not trusting her brother not to hurt you but as her arms reached out to take you Klaus growled at her his eyes glowing a faint yellow as he took a step back from them his grip on you tightening. Both their eyes widened as they watched Klaus reaction, never having expected that from their brother who barely cared about them let alone anyone else.
“She’s fine, she’s a werewolf, she killed a few deers out in the woods, now move.” Klaus all but growled out as he moved to walk around them again his eyes still glowing a faint yellow and the two of them allowed him to walk around them an action done more out of shock than anything else.
“What are you going to do with her?” Rebekah asked, the first to shake her shock as she followed Klaus up the stairs not wanting to leave you alone with him despite having seen his most definitely genuine reaction to her trying to take you from him.
“I’m going to find her some clothes and then I’m going to let her get the rest that she needs, now leave me alone Rebekah.” Klaus ordered as he walked into his room, carefully laying you down on his bed making sure that the coat didn’t shift before walking over to his dresser. Rebekah however followed him into the room, standing next to the bed and taking in your dirty appearance her nose wrinkling in disgust at the idea of Klaus leaving you like that until you woke up.
“I thought I told you to leave?” He growled out as he pulled her away from (Y/N), not liking the look that his sister was giving your unconscious form and not trusting her to leave you alone. Rebekah stumbled away from the force of Klaus’ grab glaring at her brother, she was quick to recover from her stumble and made a grab for Klaus’ clothes ripping them out of his hand before he could uncover you from his coat.
“Oh no!” She shouted as she stepped back from him and held the clothes away from him much to Klaus extreme annoyance. He whipped around to face her his eyes now glowing a vibrant gold and his fists clenched in anger as black veins started appearing under his eyes.
“Rebekah, give me back the clothes, now is not the time for you to play one of your stupid little games.” He held out his hand waiting for her to give them back to him but she didn’t she kept holding them away from him and looking him in the eyes.
“No, I’m not going to let you dress the poor girl in these clothes while she covered in dirt and blood, the poor thing will have a heart attack when she wakes up like that.” She stated her voice even and not at all affected by the anger and annoyance shining in his eyes.
“So what do you suggest I do? Spray her down with the hose? Splash her with cold water? What an excellent idea Rebekah why didn’t I think of that? Let me go grab a bucket and I’ll get right on that. Now give me the clothes.” He snarked back at her as he took a step forward going to snatch the clothes from her, done with her and her antics. But she moved back from him still not phased by the look he was giving him as she gave him her own annoyed look at his suggestion.
“No. I’m suggesting that instead of giving you the clothes how about you go get me some soap and a wash cloth and I’ll clean her up as much as I can and then I’ll let you dress her.” She stated her tone not leaving room for argument and Klaus was fully aware of the fact that his sister had no intention of budging on this decision of hers and he really had no desire to argue with her. Not right now anyways. Huffing out an annoyed sigh he didn’t say anything as he shoved past her, knocking his shoulder against hers and causing her to roll her eyes as he disappeared into his bathroom. Returning moments later with a warm, wet, and soapy wash cloth in hand he tossed it at Rebekah before tearing his clothes out of her hand and moving to sit in the chair in the corner.
“Are you just going to sit there and watch?” She asked him and he nodded.
“You didn’t actually think that I would trust you alone with her did you? I’m well aware of the fact that you’re still holding a grudge dear sister.” He stated as his gaze falling to your sleeping face. Your head had lulled to the side and despite the events of the night you wore a small smile on your face and Klaus felt himself relax at the sight of it something about seeing you like that brought a sense of warmth to him that he didn’t quiet understand. Rebekah stood there watching her brother as he looked over your face and she opened her mouth to comment on it before deciding better on, something about this moment telling her not to disturb it. Instead she shook her head as she moved to your side and began cleaning your arm begin as gentle and as careful as possible
~The Next Morning~
You shot up into a sitting position as your eyes snapped open, your gaze jumped around the room seeing things but not really taking any of it in because your mind was too busy racing as the memories of the last night came crashing back down around you. You remembered the pain, the anger, the betrayal, the fear, the sadness, the anger again as you remembered who’d put you down there, who’d locked you in down there forcing you to turn alone and afraid, but most importantly you remembered the promise that your wolf had made to you. The promise that if you let it take over, it would kill the Salvatores, it would get revenge for you, it would make them pay for what they did to you, and then nothing. There was nothing but darkness after that. As the memories settled over you, you felt your stomach twist in a mix of fear, worry, and disgust at yourself because of all the other emotions storming through your body right now there wasn’t an ounce of guilt in you at the possibility that you had killed them. You were afraid that if you had killed Damon and Stefan then the others would never forgive you and they would hate you for the rest of your life even if you didn’t have any actual control over yourself at the time. But you were also worried that if you’d gone after the Salvatores and you hadn’t succeeded then there was no way that they didn’t know that you were a werewolf, that you hadn’t told them that you were a werewolf and if Damon didn’t kill you for that then he would for you trying to kill him. Either way you were fucked when it came to them. But there wasn’t an ounce of guilt or regret in you for the possibility of having killed them because despite everything you still thought that they deserved it for what they did, that they had it coming, and for that you didn’t regret or feel guilty about anything.
Huffing out a sigh you closed your eyes and brought your hands up and ran your fingers through your hair gripping at it for a couple of seconds before opening your eyes again and letting go of your hair. You stopped short of putting your hands down though because you caught sight of your nails and the disgusting mix of dried blood and dirt that was caked underneath your finger nails. The reality of your situation dawned on you as you stared down at your nails, the possibility of having killed Damon and Stefan having turned into a very very real thing. Your fear and worry ramped up even more as you stared at your nails and your hands began to shake slightly but still there was no guilt or regret, if anything you were happy? No, no, you might not be feeling guilt at the moment but you sure as shit weren’t feeling happy, but if you weren’t happy then what were you feeling? Satisfaction? Yeah… yeah that seemed more along the lines of what you were feeling and it disgusted you. Because you shouldn’t have been feeling satisfaction at the possibility that you might have killed two of your friends, and sure you were still angry at them and you didn’t get along well with them most days but they were still your friends. Which meant that you shouldn’t be feeling satisfaction at having killed them, you should be feeling guilty, ashamed even at what you had done but no instead here you were feeling satisfied like you’d just accomplished a life goal right now and you hated it.
“Rebekah insisted on cleaning you up before you were dressed unfortunately there wasn’t much that she could do for your nails, after all a wash cloth can only take care of so much.” You looked away from your nails and to the door to see Klaus standing there leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest and a small smile on his face. At the distant look on your face though he was pushing himself off the doorframe he stepped into the room and closed the door softly behind him, not that it would do much good against his siblings who were most definitely listening in down stairs.
“(Y/N)?” He asked and you looked away from him and back to your hands and you realized distantly that your hands had stopped shaking.
“Did I… Did I kill them?” Your voice shook as you spoke and if you were being honest with yourself you weren’t entirely sure you wanted to know the answer to that question you were to afraid of hat you’d feel after you found out the answer.
“No. You didn’t. The Salvatore’s are still very much alive despite their best attempts to rectify that fact, the only thing that you killed last night were a couple of deers.” He answered and you puffed out a sigh that wasn’t entirely relief as you relaxed against the bed slowly lowering your hands so that they rested in your lap. You pointedly ignored the disappointment that bubbled up in your chest at his answer, kicking it away from you to deal with it at a later date because right now you had bigger things to worry about than the fact that you were turning into a serial killer. Like for instance you needed to worry about the fact that your supposed friends had just tried to kill Klaus and his family and he had no idea that you had no part in their plan and you needed to make sure that he knew that before he either killed you or you lost whatever it was that was going on between the two of you.
“Listen Klaus, about what happened last night, I just want you to know that I-” You started after a moment of silence but Klaus cut you off before you could finish your explanation.
“I know you had nothing to do with it (Y/N), just like I know that the Salvatore’s locked you up in their basement last night.” He stated and your eyes widened in surprise, how the hell could he know that? Klaus gave you a small smirk when he saw the surprised confusion on his face.
“I-What? How? I never got to tell you before I turned.” You pointed out and in response he pulled your phone from his pocket and waved it in the air slightly causing your eyes to widen further.
“How did you get that?” You questioned him as you took your phone from him when he held it out to you. Tapping on the cracked screen you watched as it lit up revealing several missed calls from Bonnie, Caroline, and Elena, along with more than several text messages from the three of them. When you tapped on the notifications to see what the messages said you saw that they were all asking you if you were ok, if Klaus had done anything to you, and growing increasingly more panicked when you didn’t immediately answer. Rolling your eyes you opened up their messages and sent them a quick messages letting them know you were fine before shutting off your phone and dropping it on to the bed next to you.
“Well after I stopped you from attempting to kill the Salvatore’s I got a little curious as to why you wanted to kill them so badly so I decided to go find out why and would you know what I found? That you turned in their basement and I’ll admit that confused me more because I was under the impression you didn’t want them to know you’re a werewolf, and then that confusion turned into suspicion when I had a little run in with Damon and he was acting more concerned about me having you than about you being a werewolf. But of course my suspicions were put to rest after I left their house and your phone actually got a signal and sent your messages.” Klaus told you and your body tensed as your looked at him. His general appearance was calm but there was a fire burning in his eyes that told you just how angry he was at Damon and it was that anger that had you worried.
“Please, tell me you didn’t kill him.” You all but whined out as your shoulders sagged. It was bad enough you were actually going to have to deal with your friends eventually and the last thing that you wanted to deal with at the same time was the fact that your friends were going to be bitching about Klaus having killed Damon. Klaus gave you an amused look at the slight pout that you were wearing it certainly wasn’t the reaction he had been expecting to his confessions bout Damon.
“No, I didn’t, though I should have. His chest may be a little sore after I threatened to rip his heart out, but I assure you that he is still very much alive. Why do you care if he’s dead? I thought you wanted them dead, you certainly did last night.” He commented and you sighed heavily as you ran your fingers through your hair. If you were being honest a part of you did still want them dead for what they did, that a part of you was still angry at them, still hurt, but a bigger part of you knew that you couldn’t afford to kill them. That if you did your mental health would deteriorate and you would lose the only friends that you had in this shit hole of a town. Though as you glanced back to your phone and thought about how your friends were the ones who had been the ones to betray you and then to Klaus the one who had saved you from the very people who were supposed to betray you like that, you weren’t entirely sure that you wanted to keep them around. Besides they only ever seemed to care about you when you were in danger or when they thought you were in danger other than that all you ever were to them as a side character, someone they could call on when they needed you or when it suited their needs, to be used as a plot device or for when the main characters got bored and needed someone to talk to. But with Klaus things were different, you weren’t a side character, you were a main character, you were noticed, and you weren’t used as a bargaining chip, you were just you and it was nice to be noticed you weren’t going to lie. Putting that knowledge to the side you also knew that killing the Salvatore’s wasn’t the answer to any of your problems and if anything killing them was only going to cause more and you didn’t want to deal with them.
“Killing them won’t solve anything, Klaus.” You stated finally breaking the silence as you focused on Klaus who scuffed giving you a disbelieving look.
“I disagree I happen to think that killing them would solve a great deal of not just my problems but yours as well, don’t tell me you actually plan on forgiving them for what they did to you?” He asked and you scowled at him.
“Of course I don’t plan on forgiving them for what they did to me they practically kidnapped me for Christ's sakes, but I’m also not going to let you kill them just because of what they did if anyone’s going to kill them for that it’s going to be me.” Mentally you cursed yourself for letting your anger get the better of you Klaus on the other hand smirked at your little slip. You may not have been happy with your anger but he was, because that anger meant you were telling the truth that you weren’t going to forgive them, that you were truly upset with them, and if you were truly upset with them then that meant you were one step closer to getting rid of them and coming to him, to joining him.
“Excellent, then why don’t I kill them for attempting to kill me and my family and then neither of us will have to worry about anything and our problems will be solved.” He stated as he turned around to open the door and most likely head out to do that just. Your eyes widened as you threw off the sheets and stood up from the bed before you could even process what you were doing you had grabbed ahold of Klaus’ bicep and forcing him to turn around and face you. Just because you were still pissed at them and held no guilt at the idea of their possible death didn’t mean you thought they should actually die.
“Klaus you can’t.” You pleaded with him and he looked from your face to your hand that was still very much holding his bicep and then back to your face. You felt your face flush heavily as a blush roared to life on your cheeks and you quickly let go of him, taking a step back so your calves were pressed against the bed.
“And why the hell not? You said it yourself, you have no desire to forgive them and I have no desire let them live anymore so why not just let me go and kill them then we can both have our revenge for what they did.” He stated and you would be lying if you said that you weren’t contemplating letting him do it, but you knew better.
“Because despite what they did to me they’re still my friends and I’m not going to let you kill them.” You told him your voice sounding more sure of yourself than you actually felt in your decision. Klaus raised an eyebrow at you clearly surprised by your reaction.
“And what wonderful friends they are what with them locking you away in their basement like you were nothing more than a common animal.” He stated and you clenched your jaw at the memory of what they’d done to you and you had to take a couple of deep breathes before responding to Klaus afraid you might say something that could get you killed or worse.
“Yeah well I’ve never said that they were good friends now did I?” You asked him and you paused as you looked Klaus over as you thought about what it was you wanted to say next taking in the anger and the frustration that was so very clearly on his face.
“Look, I’m sorry about what they tried to do to you and your family, hell I even tried to talk them out of it but look where that got us?” You commented as you gestured vaguely around the two of you before you started speaking again. “And I understand that you’re angry at them and I’m angry too but I can’t let you kill them Klaus so please promise me that you won’t kill them.” You gave him a pleading look as you met his gaze and he stared at you for a moment thinking before he huffed out an annoyed sigh a resigned look crossing his face as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Fine. I won’t kill them… on one condition. If they do something like this to you or in general again I will not hesitate to rip them apart understood?” He asked and you had no doubt that he would keep his word. A small smile spread across your face and you had to resist the urge to hug him, this was the most true care and concern that you had experienced in a long time.
“They do it again and I may just let you have first crack at them.” You told him and he smirked back at you his hands twitching at his sides and a look flashing across his face that you couldn’t quiet read as he took a step towards you. You felt your blush beginning to return as you continued to look up at him and he took another step towards you closing the distance as that same emotion or thought flashed across his face. Despite your best efforts not to your eyes flicked down to his lips and then back up to his eyes when you’d realized what you were doing your blush worsening and you mentally kicked yourself for doing that. Now was neither the time nor the place to be thinking about things like that not to mention you shouldn’t even be thinking about things like that to begin with. He wasn’t necessarily your enemy anymore and you weren’t entirely sure what it was the two of you were but after everything that happened last night you shouldn’t be thinking about kissing him. Though you didn’t miss the way that his own eyes looked down to your lips and you pointedly ignored the little voice in your head begging for him to do it. Before either of you could do anything though the moment was gone as there was a loud noise down stairs causing Klaus to step back from you. Clearing his throat he motioned to the bathroom and you could have sworn that you saw the faintest hint of a blush on his cheeks.
“You know where the bathroom is, I’ll be downstairs with the rest of the headaches should you need me.” He said as he opened the door to leave and you nodded walking over to the bathroom but you paused before you closed the door looking back at him to see him just about to leave.
“Oh, and Klaus for what it’s worth, I’m glad that their plan failed.” You told him before you closed the door. Missing the way a genuine smile spread across Klaus’ face at your comment.
Minutes later and you were jogging down the stairs wearing a pair of jeans that Rebekah had left for you while you were in the shower and another one of Klaus’ shirts that you’d stolen after seeing the barely there top that Rebekah had also left you. Stepping down from the stairs you headed towards the dinning room where you could hear Klaus and his family arguing about something that sounded vaguely important by the way they sounded. You stopped in the doorway of the dinning room, all conversation in the room stopping as several pairs of eyes turned to look at you. On instinct you took a step back feeling very much like prey that had just stumbled in on a group of hunters which you supposed they were. Klaus opened his mouth to say something but you shook your head as you held up your hands taking another step back.
“Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, I don’t want to know. Whatever you guys are doing or planning you all have fun with that and good luck with it but I don’t want to know and I want no part of whatever it is. I just wanted to thank both of you for the clothes and last night,” You looked pointedly at Rebekah and Klaus when you said that before addressing Klaus specifically. “And to let you know that I am leaving.” You finished off and Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol all shared a look as Klaus stood up.
“I’ll walk you out.” He stated and you couldn’t help the twitching of your lips as he walked over to you. Motioning for you to lead the way you nodded your head once and started walking, Klaus falling into step beside you and once you were out of sight of his siblings you allowed the smile to actually grow on your face. The two of you walked in silence the whole way to the door, you shoulder occasionally brushing against Klaus’ an action that you blushing by the time the two of you reached the door. Stepping out on to the stairs your eyes widened slightly when you saw your car sitting in his drive way and for a moment you contemplated asking him how the hell he’d manage to get your car here but when you turned around to face him you decided against it, it was probably better if you didn’t know how he’d done it.
“Thank you, again, Klaus for everything that you’ve done for me.” You told him again hoping that he would hear the sincerity in your voice and know just how thankful you were for him, and judging by the look that crossed his face he did.
“Anything for you, love.” He said and you felt your face heat more at his comment. The two of you stood there for a while just looking at one another him not knowing what to do and you debating on whether or not if you wanted to ask him a question you had been wondering for a while now. In the end you decided that it would probably be better if you just left, after all you had your own damage control to do before that damage decided to come looking for you and it wasn’t like there was anything else that the two of you could say to each other.
“Well, I guess I should get going, I’ll see you later Klaus.” You told him as you turned around and started down the stairs trying not to let the awkwardness that was well everything about this situation right now.
“Nik.” He stated and you stopped halfway down the stairs your body tensing as you turned around to look at him the confusion clear on your face as you tilted your head to the side slightly.
“What?”
“Nik, you can call me Nik.” He repeated his voice sounding unsure. A large smile spread across your face before you could think to stop it as a giddiness bubbled up in your chest and you had to stop yourself from bouncing around in excitement at getting to call him something that only Rebekah seemed allowed to call him.
“Ok then, I’ll see you later Nik!” You called over your shoulder as you turned back around and made your way down the stairs.
Klaus stood in the doorway for a few more moments watching as you climbed into your car and drove away a smile etched onto his face. He could feel his undead heart pounding away in his chest at you calling him a nickname so few people actually get to call him as a feeling he though had long since died started flickering to life inside of him thanks to you. He waited until he could no longer see your car in the drive before moving to return to his siblings, the whole way back attempting to wipe the smile off of his face but unable to. A fact that did not go unnoticed by his siblings.
“My gods, you’ve got it bad.” Kol commented and Klaus scowled at him as he sat back down, a look that was lessened by the smile that stubbornly refused to leave his face.
“I think it’s cute, our little Nik having a crush.” Rebekah piled on and Klaus turned his scowl to her causing her to smile back at him in return.
“Do you have anything that you would like to add to this Elijah or shall we go back to discussing the important matters at hand?” Klaus bit out, the smile fading from his face as annoyance took over and he looked to Elijah who distractedly waved him off to lost in thought to pick on him like the others.
~Four Days Later~
It had been four days since Damon and Stefan had locked you up in their basement, four day since you had begun avoiding all of your friends not wanting to deal with Elena and Caroline’s questioning or Damon and Stefan’s excuses. Four days since you had informed them that you were fine and had learned about what had happened to Bonnie’s mother. Four days since you’d talked to Bonnie about what Damon had done to her and what he’d done to you and how you were down for some good old fashioned revenge if she was, and for her to just say the word and you’d find a nice red sock to throw in Damon’s laundry or a bottle of vervain to pour in their water supply, that last comment had actually gotten a week chuckle out of her before the two of you had to hang up. Four days since your very existence had been acknowledged by Damon and Stefan or any of your other friends. Four days and here you were trekking through the woods because you’d gotten a message from them insisting once again that you meet them only this time it was in the forest and you just really couldn’t learn your lessen could you because this was exactly how it happened last time and if they ended up locking you up again you weren’t going to stop Klaus from killing them hell you were going to join him.
Sighing you stepped into the clearing to see Elena and Caroline already waiting there and talking to one another, but whatever conversation they were having stopped when they saw you a look of worry crossing both their faces. You rolled your eyes internally, yeah right like they were actually concerned about you they hadn’t tried seriously getting in contact with you for four days after you’d told them you were fine and unhurt and back home so why should they care now?
“Alright, where are they?” You demanded as you looked around the clearing not seeing any sign of Damon or Stefan.
“(Y/N)-”
“Hey, what’s with the cryptic secret meeting text?” Matt asked cutting Caroline off from whatever question she was going to ask you. Your eyes widened slightly in surprise when you saw Matt. Caroline and Elena you expected they were important, you were suspicious about why they had asked you to come especially after what had happened but it still made sense since you and Klaus had this… relationship(?) going on that even you didn’t fully understand. But Matt? Why the hell would they invite Matt to this? Matt was human, unimportant and useless to them so why invite him?
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out, though to be quite honest I’m surprised they even considered inviting me after what happened.” You commented as you wondered closer to Matt looking around trying to listen for Damon and Stefan while the others looked at you in confusion.
“What do you mean? What happened last time?” Elena asked and you rolled your eyes, of course they didn’t know why that surprised you, you had know idea.
“Oh? You mean that they didn’t tell you? What. A. Surprise.” You stated the bitterness and annoyance clear in your tone and the three of them looked more confused than they did before. But before any of you could say anything else Damon and Stefan had arrived.
“Now, now, (Y/N) there’s no need to sound so bitter.” Damon stated as they walked up to the four of you and you glared at him the anger you thought you had gotten under control rearing its head once again. Gods somedays it was really really annoying to be a werewolf because it felt like the only emotion you ever truly felt now a days was anger.
“I have every right to be bitter, Damon, you locked me up in your basement because I didn't want to play Katherine in your plan against Klaus!” You shouted at him and everyone else gasped which caused both you and Damon to roll your eyes.
“You did what?!”
“Damon!”
“You didn’t want to manipulate Klaus?” They all shouted at once and you gave Caroline a look at her Klaus comment and the suspicion that was in her tone.
“Yes, I didn’t want to manipulate him like Kathrine did, does, and will still do to those two idiots over there for a plan that I didn’t think would work in the first place and you know what? I was fucking right! So you’ll have to forgive me for looking out for my own life.” You explained as you gave her a forced smile while your eyes told her that if she asked another question like that you wouldn’t hesitate to hit her. The look you gave her caused to take a step back glancing over at Elena who gave her an equally concerned look, they had never seen you so angry before.
“And, hopefully this will make up for it.” Stefan spoke up before either Elena or Damon could say anything, tossing the duffle bag he was carrying down on the ground revealing that it was full of wooden stakes.
“Stakes? What are we going to do with a bunch of stakes? Pitch a tent?” Matt asked after a moment of silence and you snorted grinning at him, ignoring the pointed looks that you were getting from the others.
“Cute. These dear quarterback aren’t just any old stakes these ones here are white oak.” Damon stated and you froze your body tensing as you fought to keep your facial expression under control.
“White oak?” You mumbled, your thoughts racing a mile a minute as you stared at the bag lying there on the ground. That couldn’t be possible, there couldn’t be white oak stakes in that bag, it just wasn’t possible, Rebekah said that her and Klaus had burned all the white oak from wickery bridge there shouldn’t be anymore left. If that was really white oak in there then that meant that they were going to make a move on the Mikaelson’s and that move involved them trying to kill one of them and if you kill one of them you kill the rest of the family. A family that you had started to grow exponentially closer to over the past four days.
“Yep! And we don’t have just one we’ve got thirteen, that means we’ve got thirteen shots to kill an original any original will do though the easiest one for us to get to at the moment would be Rebekah since we don’t know where the others are.” Stefan said and his voice sounded monotone to you as you stood there in a daze still trying to process what was happening.
“Here, (Y/N).” Damon said and you caught the stake he tossed your way, coming out of your daze just enough to look down at it in confusion and then back up at him.
“What’s this for?”
“While Rebekah might be the easiest one for us all to get at, Klaus is going to be the easiest for you to get at, so you’re going to use it to kill Klaus.” Damon explained and you felt bile rise up burning your throat as your stomach churned violently as you stared at Damon with wide eyes.
“What?” You asked hoping your voice sounded at the very least normal and not like you were about to have a panic attack any second now.
“Listen, your the only one of us who can get close to Klaus without him getting suspicious thanks to his weird obsession with you. Now before you get your panties in a twist we’re not asking you to manipulate him but keep this on you and the first chance you get stake him where it counts, deal?” Damon added on his face completely serious as the two of you looked each other in the eye, your gaze occasionally flicking to Stefan who was doing the same thing.
“Damon you can’t-”
“Elena.” Stefan stated as he held up a hand to stop her his tone serious and commanding a rare tone to come out of Stefan’s mouth and there for effectively shutting up Elena who looked at him surprised to hear that tone from him.
“I have an issue with emotional manipulation not with straight up killing him, he’s an asshole who’s killed hundreds of people and threatened the lives of my friends, he deserves to die.” You stated your grip tightening on the stake and your voice sounding far firmer than you actually felt in your statement. However that was exactly what they wanted to hear because the looks that they were giving you lessened as they smirked and turned their attentions back to the others.
“Good, as for the rest of you we’re going to work on getting to Rebekah.” Damon said as he clapped his hands together but whatever he said next faded into the background as you stared at the stake in your hand your mind still racing.
Several hours later after your little stint in the woods you found yourself standing outside the Mikaelson mansion your hands shaking where they hung at your sides and your heart racing a mile a minute as several different scenarios about what was about to happen ran through your mind. And none of them were good. Your bag felt like it weighed a tone and you didn’t want to think about what was inside it, or what you were about to do, or about the choice that you’d made, but you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking about it all your thoughts a nearly uncontrollable storm in your head.
“I was beginning to wonder when you were going to knock love, I could hear your hear your heart beating from the road… is everything alright?” Klaus asked his brow furrowing slightly in concern as he looked down at you and you’d never felt so small and scared as you looked up at him than you did right now.
“I… I… Look I-” You cut yourself off as you closed your eyes taking in a stuttering breath while you pulled you bag around to your front reaching one hand and grabbing the stake before opening your eyes again. The concerned look on his face had been replaced by one of mild confusion and suspicion as he looked down at your hand and then up to your face.
“I… I won’t be a spy for you or the others.” You stated and Klaus took a step back from you and you could see his walls starting to go up as he looked down at you his hands tightening around the doorframe.
“What are you-”
“Here.” You pulled out the white oak stake, making sure to hold it loosely in your hand with the tip pointed at you trying to show that you had no intention of using it on him. That didn’t stop his eyes from widening slightly and for several emotions to flash across his face before his walls were completely up and you could no longer read his face, something that scared you more than his anger ever could.
“Is that-”
“White oak? Yes it is.” You interrupted him your fear building inside of you the more you stared up at his emotionless face. This wasn’t good, this really, really, really wasn’t good. You needed him to believe you, you needed him to listen you, and nothing about the look on his face said that he was going to listen to you any longer than it would take to rip out your heart.
“Where did you-”
“Damon saved a piece of the bridge. Him and Stefan made them into stakes, there’s thirteen total counting this one, they’re keeping two for themselves and hiding the rest. Don’t ask me where because I don’t know, they didn’t tell anyone else either, they gave me this with the strictest of orders to kill you.” You rushed out starring up into his eyes hoping to see a flicker of some sort of emotion, some hope that he believed you but there was nothing there. There was nothing shinning back at you, he was just blank and you hated it because normally you could read him like an open book but now you couldn’t. Klaus on the other hand looked from your face down to your hand and then back again his expressionless mask never changing.
“And?”
“And what?”
“And do you plan on killing me?” He asked and your eyes widened significantly as you took a half step back on instinct. His body tensed but you made no move to grip the stake any tighter than you already were not wanting to trigger his rage that always sat so close to the surface.
“No. No god no. Would I be telling you about this, giving you this if I wanted to kill you? Nik, please, the last thing that I want to do is kill you, I mean I get it we don’t have the most normal of relationships but when I saw the stakes just sitting there in the bags my first thoughts weren’t even about my friends it was about you and your family and how they wanted to kill you and about how the very thought of it made me want to throw up.” You rambled, everything just tumbling out of you as you looked up at him desperately trying to see past the walls that he had put up as he just stared down at you not saying anything just looking at you with that damned emotionless face and you hated it.
“Nik, please, say something.” You begged him not daring to move anymore than you already had but he just kept starring at you for a few more minutes before taking the stake from your hand. He looked at it for a few moments before turning it around so that the point was directed at him as he held it out to you once again.
“Keep it.” He stated and you blinked up at him giving him an owlish look unsure of what he had just said to you.
“What?”
“Keep it, it will look awfully strange to your friends should they go looking for it only to find that you no longer have it.” He said and you looked between him and the stake a couple of times before finally settling on his face noticing that you could see just the flicker of something else in his eyes again.
“You… you can’t be serious, can you? Because no offense Nik but you’re one of the most paranoid people that I now.” You told him and he chuckled nodding his head in agreement even as he continued holding the stake out to you.
“I know I don’t trust easily love, but believe me when I say that there is no one that I would trust more with this particular weapon than you so please take it and keep it safe.” He said and you could see the honesty shinning in his eyes as he looked at you and you looked back at the stake before hesitantly reaching out and taking it from him. Your fingers brushing briefly against his hand as you took the stake, shoving it in your bag in the same moment.
“Ok, but I was serious earlier Nik, just because I’ve chosen you over them doesn’t mean that I’m going to be a spy for you or for them, I want no part of that game and I’m still going to be friends with them I’m not just going to throw away years of friendships just like that though I’ll be the first to admit that there isn’t a lot of friendships left to hold on to.” You muttered the last bit more to yourself than to him and he chuckled again.
“I wouldn’t ask you too love, would you like to come inside?” He asked as he stepped to the side motioning inside and you smiled at him and nodded.
“Yeah, I would like that.” You said as you walked into the mansion, dropping your bag at the door as Klaus closed it.

‘Y/N’ You heard your name being called by a sweet, homey voice. ‘Y/N, open your eyes, honey.’ You felt something soft tingling your forearm. ‘Mom, stop’ You laughed because it was the way only your mother walked you up. And then you froze and rapidly opened your eyes. And you saw her, kneeling above you, examining your body. She cupped your face with her one hand and softly rubbed your cheek. ‘Oh, baby I am so sorry. It is all my fault.’ Your mom said with torment in her eyes. You sat beside her and allowed her to hug you gently. She stroked your hair while you breathed in the sweet, fresh fruity scent of the perfume that she has always warn. ‘Mom,’ You broke the silence. ‘I don’t understand, how are you here?’ She looked at you not knowing what to say. When she finally spoke, it left you confused. ‘Honey, do you know what happened? Do you remember anything?’ Your eyes rested on her, but your sight else were. You were reliving past event with your stepfather in the led role, then you saw the men, and it all came to you. ‘Am I dead?’ You said breathlessly. ‘Not yet, time here slows down’ She answered and smiled shyly. ‘So, where are we?’ She thought for a second and then spoke. ‘We are in the “in-between”, it is a place for spirits that have either something uncompleted or if their body is still fighting or’ She didn’t have a chance to finish because you immediately got to your feet. ‘Lily!’ You shouted with wide open eyes. Your panic clearly vocal ‘I completely forgot about her, mom I need to go back!’ Your face tensed ‘How do I go back?’
Meanwhile at your house
‘C’mon, love, drink’ Klaus was feeding you his blood. He then heard a cruel laughter coming from your stepfather’s mouth. Klaus turned around, and his eyes turned gold, with a flick of an eye Klaus got to him and lifted him by his throat…
In-between
‘Y/N you are stronger than you think you are you just need to…’ She didn’t have a chance to finish when you felt a strong pull and feel to your knees. ‘Mom, what is happening?’ She grabbed your hands and squeezed them. ‘Your body begins to wake,’ She said with a serious tone in her voice and a loving smile. ‘Now, listen to me, we don’t much time. Rees (your stepfather) is dangerous, his true nature is reviled once each month.’ You looked at her confused, not understanding what she is talking about. ‘You need to take your sister and leave, never stop, never stay in one place for too long.’ ‘Mom’ You said scared by her words ‘No, listen you are powerful, strong, much stronger than you think. You just need to learn how to control it, you need to practice it.’ You grinned in pain. ‘Mom, I don’t understand. What do you…’ You were cut off, unable to catch a breath. The last thing you saw, was your mother ripping you necklace off your neck and saying, ‘I love you.’ and the tears running down her cheeks. The necklace that she gave you after your fathers’ death when you were nine.
You lifted into sitting position on the floor in your bedroom, unable to breathe. When you finally caught your breath, you fall to the ground in relieve. You then heard a choking noise and turned to where it came from. You saw a man holing Rees by his throat, and you immediately sat down shocked by what you saw. You froze in fear, tears streaming down your cheeks. The man had gold eyes and black veins around them and blood dripping from his mouth.
Your gaze then rested on your stepfather, who had a smirk on his face. He was also covered in blood, and you could not help but wonder whose blood was it yours or his? The man turned to face your stepfather. ‘Do you care to see your doing, lad?’ He said with a deep British accent. He then threw Rees towards you, this caused you to move back. Klaus then lifted Rees, who begin to struggle with him, and eventually hit Klaus. On Klaus’ face appeared a playful smirk. He grabbed him by his throat yet again, and pushed him against the wall, this time leaving crack marks behind. ‘Now, here is how this is going to play out’ said Klaus ‘You can either be a good doggy and live, or,’ Klaus smirked on this thought and carried on ‘you can die’ He said emotionlessly. ‘The choice is yours’ He then looked at you ‘You’re a fool, nothing but a fool’ said your stepfather and begin to laugh.
At that moment yet another man burst into your room. He was wearing an expensive looking suit. ‘Niklaus, we have company’ said the man. ‘Not now Elijah, I am trying to teach this dog a lesson’ Said Klaus pressing your stepfather harder into the wall. ‘Niklaus, there is no time for this, I will take the girl you take the dog’ The man approached you and give you his hand, at first you hesitated, and then you took it. ‘Keep close behind me.’ You waved your head “yes” unable to say a word.
You were walking outside when a pack of people trashed your never-ending garden. You looked at the man, and you saw black veins under his eyes. ‘Hide´ He ordered, and you listened.
You hid behind a great old tree. Your back rested on the tree, it supported your height because your legs were unable to carry out this task. What is happening, who are these people? The questions were spinning in your head. After a couple of seconds, you peeked to see what was happening. It was a bloodbath. You saw the two men, Klaus and Elijah rip the harts out of the chests of people who came near them. You could not believe what you were seeing. Tears were dripping from your chin. This is insane, just fucking insane. Mass murder in my garden You spoke to yourself with an amused voice. Someone must have added something to my drink, and now I am hallucinating some fucked up crazy shit. There is no any other option. Alex must have to sneak some of his “mood boosters’ into my tea. I am gonna kill this little fuck. Your monologue continued. But you were quickly pulled out of the trans when you heard a whistle, and then your sister’s calling filled your ears. She was calling for help. She was calling you.
You came out from behind the tree and saw how frightened she was. Some men held her and motioned her into a car, and your stepfather was walking towards it, with a proud expression on his face. He stopped for a brief moment and looked at you ‘What can I say sometimes you’re on top and other times you’re on the bottom, and you my dear are always on the bottom’ he said and continued to walk. You immediately looked around into chaos, the brothers were overwhelmed by the number of opponents they had a face.
And then you felt it, her presence. You smelled her sweet fresh fruity scent. You closed your eyes, filled with the power you screamed ‘Stoooooop!’ You breathed heavily, when you opened your eyes you were amazed, everyone was down on the ground, shocked or simply unconscious. Before anyone could stop you, you ran to you sister. You lifted her like a little bride and run to your car. You let her climb through the driver’s seat on to the passenger’s seat, you then took your place, and with a shaky hand you pressed the “start” button to start the engine, and you speed away. ‘Thank you, mom.’ You smiled and looked at your sister who was staring at you. ‘Everything is going to be fine. Don’t worry. I will protect you.’ You said relieved when she managed to curve her lips.
You heard a ring of your phone and your body tensed, and then relaxed when you saw that it was Alex. ‘Where are you, I’ve been trying to reach you all day.’ He was speaking fast, relieved that he finally reached you. ‘Alex, I am leaving the city.’ He didn’t say anything, so you just continued. ‘I’m with Lily, something happened, and we have to run’ When he spoke you could hear that he was confused ‘Why? What happened? Where are you going? What about your stepfather, he will never let you leave.’ You took a deep breath and replied ‘That’s the thing I am running from him. I don’t know where, but I have to leave. It is not safe for us to stay here.’ Alex replied quickly ‘I am going with you’ He said full of confidence. ‘There is nothing here for me, I have only you, and if you leave, I will be alone.’ You knew it was true, so you agreed. ‘Alright, I will pick you up in five, get everything you need and grab a blanket and a pillow.’ You hang up and drove to his house.
Alex’s story might have been worse than yours or as equal. His mother abounded him and his dad. He had no siblings. The day he turned 18 his father abandoned him too. So, when he said he only had you it was the truth, you at least had Lily, he had nobody but you.
You got to his house, and you saw he was already outside waiting with his bag hanging on his shoulder and pillow and blanket in his arms. You stopped the car, and you said to Lily ‘Sit in the back’ She looked at you and obeyed unwillingly. Alex threw the blanket with a pillow on the back seat and took his place in front.
‘So, do you wanna tell me what happened?’ He said when you started the engine. You turned around and looked at Lily. ‘Do you wanna watch a Disney movie?’ You asked her, and she nodded in agreement. ‘Put headphones on.’ You then turned to Alex and told him everything. Starting from the truth about your stepfather and ending with what happened in your garden. He turned his face away from you drowning in thoughts. You turned around, Lily was already asleep. You were not surprised because it was already dark.
You stared at the wide empty road. Now you were finally free. Your lips curved slightly it wasn’t how you planned to escape that powerful man, but you did.
Thank you for taking your time and reading it. Again, I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what your thoughts are and if you would like part 3.
