this microfic is for me and like maybe two other people

31. breeze

The breeze ruffles Mike’s entire being, seemingly lifting him up physically, and maybe it does, maybe it would have if he wasn’t grounded by a warm hand in his by his side.

It ruffles his hair, and Mike has to use his free hand to straighten it out, lest the curls settle in front of his eyes for the rest of the day.

Oliver, on the other hand, barely moves with the wind, like all of him is is a statue — Mike knows better, though.

“Vast suits you, you know,” Mike teases, bumping a shoulder up against Oliver’s coat. “I think you should try out another free fall soon.”

Oliver snorts, and Mike smiles warmly at the sound. “Yeah? Well. End suits you, then.” A well-manicured pointer finger pokes Mike’s forehead, where a shiny scar still hasn’t regained all feeling. It’s whatever. It looks cool with the rest of the Lichtenberg winding up his cheek, like it terminates in a starburst, or a firework, or something.

At least, that’s what Oliver says, and Mike isn’t inclined to argue.
