I took the plunge and change my url here at tumblr. Long overdue but I hesitated b/c I did not want to break all the links to my thousands of posts. Still, needed to be done. Unfortunately people are squatting on “cooper-west” and “cooperwest” so I had to go with what I’ve got.

After seeing Derek nearly die at La Iglesia, Stiles waits for months for him to come back to Beacon Hills. He knew that he loved Derek, but things had happened too quickly, and he never took the time to say it. All in all, there was too much left unsaid between them, too many unspoken feelings, desires, and hopes. Too much unrealized potential. Stiles wouldn’t leave Beacon Hills until he saw Derek again. Apparently, sourwolves take their sweet time.
When Derek *finally* returns, everything is a whirlwind, and old nemeses will try to undo everything Stiles and Derek have fought and bled for. That’s not about to happen on their watch, but it will take more from them than they ever saw coming.

thinking about changing my url
I’ve been “mikes-grrl” in fandom since 2007. As a librarian, archivist, and writer, I really value the consistency of that. It is who I was on LJ, then dreamwidth (where there is still an old fanfic account in existence), then tumblr and then AO3.
Part of me, though, wants to move on. I’d like this account to be more about who I am now, than who I was (or wanted to be) in 2007.
Yet, it would break a lot of links to posts I’ve made, and that bothers me.
I’m torn between shuttering this blog and starting over, or renaming it. The former keeps links to posts intact, but that’s about it. The latter keeps me all my mutuals, and my backlog of posts.
advice? suggestions?

I definitely thought about using that, but I'm actually leaning towards the other way around. I'm thinking that the Sheriff prefers his middle name, John, because of his negative connotations with his 'actual' first name.
On top of that, not liking his actual first name would explain why so many people just call him 'Sheriff' instead of a name, anyway. :P

Derek has the whole day to himself sometimes if both the Sheriff and Stiles are at work, so he entertains himself by reading all the books in Stiles’ room. There’s tons to choose from, since Stiles is an avid reader, but turning those big pages gets tiring after a while. So he naps a lot, too.
Of course, Derek grooms himself a lot. Stiles got him a cute Barbie brush (that actually works surprisingly well), and he’s got to keep himself looking wonderfully fluffy and majestic for when his Stiles comes home from work. Grooming takes up a lot of his time (he’s very vain).
He’s also saving up his groomed tail-fur for something suspicious...
Hi! I just read "Baby, You SHould Stick Around" and it got me hankering "horticulturalist!Derek" -- I looked on the tag list under "jobs" for horticulturalist, gardener, or heck even landscape designer, but no go, just the "florist" tag. If there are other fics with Derek working professionally with plants but not as a florist, I'd sure love to know about them. Maybe a tag for them too? <3 You all are awesome, thanks!

Ooo I especially liked the comment about Will becoming Sleeping Beauty, because I think one of the tropes he’s coded for is “Prince Charming” (Disney Prince). So that’s a really perfect flip.
