Why I think Michael Afton will be in FNAF Abyss
Hello fellow Michael enjoyers! With the recent teasers we got from Leon Riskin, I believe Michael is going to play a huge role in FNAF Abyss, the Forgotten Names and Faces project. After watching TDreads livestream live, my faith in the mikesurvival theory has grown immensely. Now, why do I think Michael will play a role in FNAF Abyss? It all has to do with Leon posting a full version of Demolition Inevitable.
Now, why is this so important? Demolition inevitable is the theme we hear during Michael’s monologue in the FNAF sister location custom night ending. This is the only time we ever hear this theme and the fact Leon teased a full version tells us that Michael will be important in Abyss. Not only that, but sister location is going to play a big role in Abyss itself. Leon has teased other songs that are related to sister location, such as the forbidden nocturne.
Again, why would Leon Riskin, the composer of sister location and other fnaf games tease sister location so heavily? Alongside Michael’s theme? Michael fans, I think it’s because Michael survived fnaf 6 and will be involved somehow. I also believe that in FNAF Abyss, we’ll find the remains of the sister location bunker, since SOTM gave us confirmation that William used Edwin’s underground tunnels for the bunker.
This is getting into speculative territory, but I believe the name Forgotten Names and Faces has to do with Michael. Yes it ties into Edwin and his story as well, but who do we know has been forgotten by Scott for years after FNAF 6 and UCN? Who has barely gotten any merch and attention from Scott before the fnaf movie came out? Michael Afton. Michael’s line “I’ve been living in shadows” only further hints that he’s a forgotten name and face to this franchise; he’s been in the shadows, lurking the entire time.
Outside of William Afton, his father, he’s forgotten. In canon, he’s associated with his father as the funtimes mistook him for William. He never had an identity of his own, as he’s changed his name multiple times. Mike Schmidt, Fritz Smith, etc if you believe he’s Jeremy (I don’t lol). The name Michael Afton is forgotten to time, as William Afton paid his price for the sins he committed. It makes sense if Michael’s name is forgotten, since he was never heard of again after the fire. Edwin Murray fits this theme as well, but the fact Michael and sister location have been teased so heavily makes me think Michael plays a role.
Now, if Michael does appear in Abyss, I wonder if he’s going to be regenerated by the remnant from the scooper or if he’s going to remain a purple zombie. We’ve never seen an official Michael Afton design outside of his 8 bit sprites and how he looks in the fnaf movie. If this is true, that means we’ll finally get an official Michael Afton design. That’ll be amazing for us Michael fans since we’ve never gotten anything for him outside of fanmade models and fanart.
It would be amazing if Michael helped Cassie in Abyss, especially with going against the mimic. Maybe he had contact with Gregory and Vanessa, or the dude was just trapped down in the sinkhole, forgotten for years after he survived the fire. Who knows? Maybe he did escape the building and the dude is just somewhere vibing. I don’t think Michael would have let himself die if he knew his father survived before. We know in security breach and help wanted that William did survive somehow, his agony or consciousness being a part of glitchtrap. Why else would Glitchtrap be heavily associated with spring Bonnie and the color purple? Along with being violent towards others and brainwashing Vanessa into becoming Vanny, killing children to revive William into burn trap?
We see Michael’s name spray painted in the beginning of ruin next to a foxy hook
We also see a drawing of Helpy escaping a burning building in Helpy’s help wanted 2 minigame.
The fact Michael’s room was recreated in the pizzaplex suggests something is at play too; however, this point is weaker since the pizzaplex is known to reuse assets from the help wanted games with the help wanted recreation rooms. It’s more likely that the mimic AI recreated Michael’s room instead of it being Michael’s original room. We know from SOTM that Edwin’s house was the original before the fnaf 4 house, both being the same, so this would tease Edwin, rather than Michael, since we know Edwin created the wall code symbols in the storyteller from tales. This also strongly points to the fact that Edwin’s mansion and the fnaf 4 house are the same and that Michael’s living room is from Edwin’s old house William bought the rights to. I believe Edwin made the wall code in security breach, despite it being in Michael’s living room. We didn’t know Michael’s living room was the same as Edwin’s house at the time; we only had so much to go off of.
In conclusion, I believe Michael is in FNAF Abyss; alongside this, Edwin Murray most likely survived his encounter with M2 as well. The parallels to tales are strong and we know talesgames is debunked thanks to SOTM. Still, SOTM did keep the important story elements from the mimic story, so it’s likely that they’ll keep the important storyteller information from tales as well. Michael Afton and Edwin Murray are the forgotten names and faces for FNAF Abyss. Imagine the two of them teaming up alongside Cassie, Gregory and Vanessa to stop the mimic once and for all, ending both William and F10N4’s legacies. Finally, it’ll put an end to David Murray and M2, putting both to rest. Everyone can be at peace.
