Private Thoughts
Mikhail’ s thoughts on Gabrielle during the Mass of the Feast day of their Archangels
It's one of those rare times where Mikhail thought, Gabrielle was ethereal. On the off chance he helped lead the mass, Gabrielle was playing with the choir and small orchestra.
They mainly played for the afternoon masses, while Mikhail usually helped for the mornings. But it was an important day, the Trinity's feast day. All three had to be there, Mikhail and Felio leading the mass while Gabrielle was the main musician. Mikhail hasn't heard them perform before, but heard them practice when he passed by one of the chambers.
While Gabrielle wasn't a professional violinist, they could play well. Nothing grand like a soloist but it's enough to be concertmaster. Then again, they were blessed by Archangel Gabriel. A little bit of pulling strings by the church but they could hold to the position of concertmaster. They were good, good enough for it.
And with how the sunlight filtering through the stained glass always seemed to shine down on them...
His eyes were always drawn to them and he wondered, how many more times can he see them look so peaceful. The light had revealed the warmth of their skin, a lovely deep purple with hints of swirling blue and the most exquisite gold with specks of white shining throughout. A beautiful galaxy hid under the pitch black of their skin, and he could stare for hours.
The concentration on their face as they seemed to barely look at the sheet music made him wish he could be studied like that. Somehow glossing through with ease and yet still done with a precise touch. And the way they moved with the music, full on swaying with wherever their bow takes them and with how the music swells and quiets, it was mesmerizing.
Their sound echoed beautifully throughout the church, able to be heard despite the choir but never overpowering. He wondered, if maybe the council could have a little private concert, maybe only for him too. He wondered if they'll agree, if they'll indulge him. Or he could sit in one of their practice sessions or their lessons. Would they let him? It could be good to have another listen, give a different feedback.
