Another day had passed when the frigid air of January had left you chilled and jittery. Though it was freezing, your heart remained warm with the fuzzy thoughts you had about Mila.
Her crimson hair swayed magically in the winter wind, flicking and collecting snowflakes as she skipped along. You were with her now, smiling as she strode ahead of you, humming a cutesy tune.
"Mila, slow down!" You said with a giggle, running to catch up. She stopped midstep, and you fell into her back with a quiet "oof!".
Mila's laughter became louder, and she pulled your arms around her body. "Let's go ice-skating! I know you actually suck, but it's fine! I can carry you."
You pouted and pulled away. You folded your arms and turned your nose up, but it was too hard to stay mad at her forever. She began tickling you, and your ugly laugh spouted from a few jitters throughout your body. "Okay, okay! Fine, let's go!" You finished with a quiet laugh. Your stomach hurt from straining because of your chuckles, but it soon resided and you felt at ease.
Arriving at the rink took no more than 5 minutes, and you were happy to finally be somewhere slightly warmer than the outside. You sighed in content, and watched as Mila slipped her coat onto the bench where she placed her belongings.
Soon, the two of you were skating, hand in hand. Your balance was off, and Mila was practically carrying you, as she said she would. "This isn't so bad," you mumbled, eyeing her warm hand placed in yours. Heat rose to your cheeks, but it was hardly noticable; your face was already pink because of the wind outside. Mila was smiling so much her eyes were almost shut, and something in your stomach fluttered.
The day ended half an hour later, when the sun was about to set. Everyone was leaving except for a few stragglers, you two included. Mila slowed down, and the two of you were now in the center of the rink.
"(Y/N)," she said, looking at her skates beneath her, "I had a fun time today. Thank you."
"No problem, that's what dates are supposed to be like." You paused. Did you just call this... a date? Panic began to spread, and your body was shaking.
"Yeah. But it wouldn't be the same with anyone else." Her pink lips curled upwards into a slight smile, her eyes now meeting yours. You leaned in, and she did too, closing the space between you. Your lips had a thorough meeting, and for a moment, you felt like you were in paradise. She pulled away, her face an embarrassed mess.
You smiled and pulled her into a hug. "Let's go home. We can have another date tomorrow." With that, Mila wrapped her fingers in yours and led you up the stairs.
The world wasn't as cold as it was an hour ago. Instead, it was warm and sunny. She was your paradise.
