Yuri’s newly formed legs trembled as she tried to take a step forward, only to stumble and fall. You caught her before she could hit the ground, getting a small “thanks” from her in response.

While giving her the wei bolus was done to save her life, the transformation was rough on her; limbs elongating and twisting while new ones formed elsewhere, tissue shifted and changed until they turned into something entirely new. It changed how her very body worked, leaving her vulnerable to the cold environment around her while sharing with her the strength of the bolus.

The pain had been gone for a long while now, but the lack of familiarity with her new body made even the most basic tasks like walking difficult for her, which was where you came in.

“Are you okay?” you asked, holding her firmly yet gently so she’d stay upright.

“Y- Yeah…” Her reply came with a shaky voice as she trembled against you, shivering from the cold. “I’m fine…”

You’d been warned that the wei heishou struggled to maintain their body heat when you were first given their leash from the Lord, but you didn’t know that it would get this bad. Not when it was in the middle of summer.

“Hold on, I got you.”

You pulled away, keeping a hand on her waist to make sure she wouldn’t fall without a way for you to catch her during it as you shrugged off your coat then wrapped it around her shoulders instead.

“Better?”

“N- Not really…”

Ah. Figures.

You hoped that the Lord wouldn’t mind if you went to him and asked him for help when it came to the wei heishous and how to deal with their vulnerability to the cold.

“Come on, let’s go find a way to deal with your cold.”

Yuri nodded, hugging your arm tightly both for warmth and support as the two of you left the building and headed towards Daguanyuan.

As an ice-skater Yuri has a really busy life, he is always busy with his training and having to travel throught countries has become pretty common, after all he has been going to diferent competitions, he is constantly moving and that is why meeting you has been more like a coincidence

You happened to live in the country he was staying for his competition, you happened to be near his temporary rutine, you happened to be kind enough to greet him and give him a smile, making the little conversations you two have slowly became also part of that rutine. Yuri didn't realiced how or when it happened but you became part of his rutine, he always stopped by to at least wish you a good day or good night, he became to share with you his complains since you were so willing to hear and to laugh with him, you have become important for him and yet that didn't erease the fact that you were only a moment on his life, that once the competition ends, no matter the result, he will have to go back home, that he will go away and won't share this chats again he won't pretend that he wasn't looking forward to see you again, that it is more likely that you two won't see each other again

Yuri blush profusely at the sight of his Ghoulmate offering him a heart shaped box filled with homemade chocolate she made herself.

“W-What?! C-Chocolates for me?!” he stuttered, feeling shy all of a sudden.

“Because it's Valentine's Day and I went through all the effort to make the chocolate for you. I even had to put aside my research and experiments to make time for this.” Eiko huffs.

Yuri coughs but his cheeks are still obviously pink making her giggle.

“Well, since you made this for me then how I can refuse my Ghoulmate's chocolate? Hand it over to me!”

“Wow, so demanding.” Eiko comments but gives him the chocolate anyway with a small smile on her face.

“Oh, these chocolates are for me, right?” Jiro inquires, taking the heart shaped box of chocolates from his girlfriend.

“It is for you because you are my Ghoulmate.” Hitomi said as if it is a matter-of-fact.

Jiro smiles at her answer and open the box of chocolate to her, causing her to raise a brow but instantly realized what he wants her to do.

“You want me to feed you?”

“Hm. Because you are my Ghoulmate.” he replies, parroting her own words back to her.

Hitomi blinks then chuckles.

“Sure.”
