Prince Mildain's name

More dumb questions pertaining to my biases - I saw a theory that "Mildain" was possibly intended as Myrrdin, as in Myrrdin Wyllt, tying into the Arthurian naming themes present in Elibe. Do you think that might be a decent rendition of it, or is that totally off base from the Japanese? (The name is present in a lot of places, but the first I found was in FE6 chapter 9, in a conversation between Cecilia and Roy - Roy:Of course. Etruria's next heir, Prince Mildain, suddenly passed away last year.

Here's the quote in Japanese:

【ロイ】もちろんです　世継ぎの王子 ミルディン殿の急死　でしょう？▼

... Which shows his name to be "mirudin". By inspection -- based on how I'd say them at first glance -- I'd say that's closer to Myrddin than Mildain. (Mildain looks to me like it rhymes with "pain".)

If we're going off the Welsh, it's not quite a match...

(Welsh: [ˈmərðɪn ˈwɨɬt])

... as Myrddin is actually pronounced "muhr-thihn" (where the "th" sounds like the "th" in "they," not "thin.") and would perhaps more closely match マルジン (marujin).

But speculation is no match for what people actually say in Japan, which is indeed "mirudin" -- spelt exactly like Mildain's name. I'd say that makes Myrddin almost certainly the intent.

Mildain's secret assassination... by arrow?

No asks again, so I'm picking something I'd looked into before.

FE6 spoilers below the cut.

Patch:

Percival: "Assassinated!? Your Majesty, did you not fall off your horse in an accident?" Elphin: "No. I was shot with a poisoned arrow. First to my horse...and then to me."

Some time ago, velthomer brought this part up, wondering how in the world you could pretend an assassination was a horse-related accident when there are, you know, arrows sticking out of the guy. Apparently Douglas "noticed first," hushed it up, and swept Mildain to the Western Isles. And the rest is history. Aside from the Great Etrurian Blindness of 998, which goes unremarked upon by the masses.

Being serious though, the answer to this puzzle is pretty simple.

【エルフィン】 Elphin いや　馬上で毒矢に射られたのだ▼ Nay. While riding my horse, I was shot by a [dokuya]. まず馬に･･･そして　暴れ出した馬から First to the horse... and then, from my struggling horse 落ちていく私にもう一度･･･▼ I fell, and to me one more ... [ie. one more dokuya was fired]

This is the word in question: 毒矢 -- the first kanji means "poison," and the second means "arrow," and the meaning would seem eminently obvious. But put them together, and they describe a wider range of instruments:

毒矢（どくや）は、鏃（やじり）に様々な種類の毒素を塗りつけ、殺傷力を高めた矢の総称。弓矢を基本とするが、吹き矢・銛・槍などの射撃・投擲武器にも、毒を塗り使用する場合がある。

"Dokuya" is a general term for arrows with various kinds of toxins smeared onto the arrowhead, in order to enhance their lethality. Though [the term is] based upon the bow and arrow, it may also describe cases where blowdarts, harpoons, spears, and other such weapons that are thrown or fired are be coated in poison.

Blowdarts seem like the most discreet option. Personally, I'd interpret the assassination weapon as those.
