This is one of the old oneshots that I did for Mileena because she needed some love, plus this was before I decided that one of her adoptive daughters was a demon. ~
Outworld was a beautiful place; citizens would be busy running their stands, and others would buy supplies for their homes. The Empress would come out of the palace to get something for her ill daughter that she had taken in when she was only a baby, having some of her daughter’s [Favorite Color] [Favorite Flower] in her hands as she headed back to the palace. Once the empress has returned, she heads towards [Name]’s room.
[Name] would usually be with her mother, but she had been sick for over a week. Her [Hair Color] [Hair Length] was messy after waking her up, and her (Eye color) was searching around her room. The door opens slowly, and her mother comes in while two tarkatans stand guard while their empress visits her daughter. “How is my lovely daughter?” Mileena had asked, giving her daughter the flowers she got.
Mileena sat on [Name]’s bed, holding her daughter’s pale skin that would normally be bright [Skin color], but the color had faded when she had become sick. “Thank you, mother, you always bring me good gifts.” [Name] gave her mother a small smile, only covering it with her free hand as she coughed. Mileena rubs her daughter’s back, comforting her the best way she can. “I’ll ask one of the chiefs to make you hot soup; maybe that’ll help you.” She hugs her softly.
Returning the hug as she rested her head on her mother’s shoulder. “Thank you, mother.” Pulling away from her mother, she looked up at her. “Get some rest, someone will bring you the soup.” Mileena patted her daughter’s head, got up from her spot, and headed out of the room. [Name] wasn’t a half-tarkatan like her mother, but she was a normal teenage outworlder that Millena had taken in when her parents abandoned her for unknown reasons.
Something was bothering [Name], but she didn’t know why or what was bothering her. I’m going to have to speak to my mother. A sigh escaped from her lips, getting out of her bed and heading towards her mother’s throne room. Mileena had her mask over her mouth; she didn’t want her daughter to be scared of her or be seen as a freak of nature. This had upset the teenager; she loves her mother for who she is.
Mileena looked up to see her daughter up and walking around when she should be resting. “Dearest daughter, why are you out of bed?” She got up from her throne, walking over to [Name] and hugging her softly. “Something is bothering me; my mind is in a daze, and I can’t sleep.” She replied as she hugged her mother back. “We’ll talk over dinner, come dearest [Name].” Mileena took [Name]’s hand, walking towards the dining room to have dinner.
It was only the two of them, which was peaceful for a mother-daughter bonding time. Mileena would eat fresh food due to her Tarkatan blood, while [Name] would just eat normal food. It didn’t bother the teenager that her mother ate livers and guts; she had gotten used to it. “Mother?” [Name] looked up to her mother. “Yes, dearest?” Mileena looked up to her daughter. “I want to know everything about Grandpa.” A smile appeared on the ill teenager's face.
Something made Mileena smile and feel warm inside. She closed her eyes and sighed softly. “[Name], you're the sweetest thing that I've ever raised. You are my princess and weakness. I’ll tell you a story about your grandfather. Now eat your food.” She opened her eyes, starting to eat again, but she kept her eyes on her child, watching her eat her soup, that will help her feel better. [Name] finished up eating her soup, which made her feel a little better.
After dinner, Mileena took her daughter back to her room and lay her down as she tucked her in. “Where to begin?” She asked, rubbing her masked chin. “Anywhere will be fine.” [Name] lies in her bed, her hands resting on top of her blankets. “I know where to start. Your grandfather was the emperor of Outworld. He ruled it with an iron fist.” Mileena starts to tell a story while she cuddles with her daughter, never wanting harm to come to her.
[Name] holds onto her mother, listening to the story. “Your grandfather died honorably, leaving me to the throne of the outworld. Get some rest, my beautiful daughter.” Mileena didn’t want to spook her daughter too much, removing her mask and kissing her daughter’s cold forehead. “Goodnight, mother.” [Name] closed her eyes, lying her head down as she fell asleep. Her mother played with her [Hair Length] [Hair Color], which she didn’t mind.
Mileena noticed how it made her daughter relaxed; she found it soothing and helped her relax as well. She got off of [Name]’s bed, heading back to her throne room to think of something for her daughter when she’s feeling better. “What am I going to do when she’s feeling better?” She asked softly, and two tarkatans looked at each other. “Empress, you could have someone train her on how to fight and defend herself.” One suggested.
The other nodded his head. “She won’t last against an attack from the Earthrealmer’s attack, plus she might not survive against a rebel.” He suggested. “Who would train her? I do not trust Kano training her, but I won’t have much choice but to hire him.” Mileena didn’t trust Kano around her daughter; she’ll hold (Name) close to her when he’s around. I’ll have to keep my eyes on him, make sure he doesn’t do anything to hurt my daughter. She narrowed her eyes.
The next morning, things were a bit harder for Mileena to visit her daughter; she was a bit busy dealing with those who broke the rules. However, she didn’t know that [Name] was up and walking around the palace. “Young princess, please go back to your room.” One of the tarkatan guards followed the teenager, which made her shake her head. “I’m feeling much better. I need to stretch my legs.” [Name] rolled her [Eye color] eyes, and she walked to the throne room.
The tarkatan guard followed her; he didn’t want to get in trouble if the young princess fell or hurt herself. Some guards stood tall when she walked into the throne room, which alerted Mileena and some of her councilors. “[Name], you should be resting.” Mileena watched as her daughter took her seat next to her throne. “I’m feeling much better, mother.” [Name] replied, leaning against her chair.
