MK Lads Looking After Sick Reader

Johnny Cage

If he hears you sighing and groaning, he'll peek his head in the room and laugh because he thinks you are being overdramatic.

When you start coughing and wheezing and leaking phlegm from nearly every hole in your face he feels bad, and will cringe in sympathy.

If you're so snotty and coughy that you can barely speak or sleep, Johnny gives you his famous cure-all, a whisky mac (whisky mixed with spiced wine).

It won't stop you from being sick, but it will help stop you from caring about it. He advises that you don't mix it with anything like nytol though unless you want to be out of commission for the next 15+ hours.

Raiden

He'll act exasperated that you're sick, but that won't stop him from looking after you.

If it's wintertime (or otherwise cold) then he immediately thinks about how to keep you warm, especially if you're suffering from fever chills. That might mean indoor heating, layering you with blankets, or lighting a fire for you.

If you're well enough to stand/move about, Raiden will encourage you to take a hot bath/shower, the water will help warm you up and the steam will help ease your congestion.

Ultimately Raiden will focus on making sure you are comfortable and rested until you begin to recover.

Fujin

Fujin is the kind of guy who drops EVERYTHING when someone he cares about gets sick.

So you better believe that Fujin is gonna dote on you, which for him manifests in asking as many questions as he can to make sure everything is to your liking.

Are you too hot? Too cold? Are you hungry? Do you have enough pillows? etc etc.

Tries to make you some stew to help ease your symptoms but because Gods don't really eat it doesn't come out quite right.

Thankfully you can't really taste or smell anything so it's basically edible. Fujin is so relieved that you aren't completely disgusted by what he's made.

Kung Lao

Now my boy Lao probably wouldn't make a great nurse but by golly, he is gonna try his darndest to look after you.

He wants to be helpful so desperately but your sickness is also quite gross, so despite his best attempts he will gag a bit while cleaning out any used tissues or sick buckets you have on hand.

If it's something that is highly contagious, like the flu or COVID, he will ignore all safety protocols and still hang out/isolate with you so you aren't lonely.

If your sickness is really bad and he wants to avoid it, he will wear PPE so he can still cuddle with you. Full face mask and gloves, he still wants to snuggle.

Lao isn't the best chef so I hope you like microwavable things and pot noodles cuz that's about all he can manage. He does, however, brew excellent teas.

Liu Kang

Unlike Lao, Kang would make an amazing nurse, he's kind, patient, and attentive, but will be firm about things you might not want to do that would help you recover.

He knows you feel like shit, but he'll still make you get out of bed, brush your teeth/shower, and have a little walk around or do some stretching for exercise.

If you're staying indoors to avoid spreading your sickness, Kang will help keep your mind occupied with things like scrabble or mahjong, so you don't go slowly mad.

When in doubt, Kang may encourage some traditional Chinese medicine treatments for you, which may range from some tai chi practice to taking some gui zhi tang.

Kung Lao

When he finds the box of teeth, he quickly shuts it again and moves on like he never saw it to begin with.

When you come back in and see him looking all uncomfortable, you look at him and say "You found the teeth, didn't you?".

Lao is ready to swear up and down that he has no idea what you're talking about, but when you say "Dude, chill out; they're fake.", he breathes a huge sigh of relief before going on a rant about what the fuck you do with all those fake teeth.

Cassie Cage

She was nonchalantly going through some stuff in your room when she finds the box of teeth, and at that moment she is convinced that this is how her life turns into a serial killer documentary.

She wants to react to the teeth but finds herself frozen, she has absolutely no idea why you would keep human teeth like this.

When you walk in and find her frozen, you quickly explain that the teeth are fake and that you use them for arts and crafts, and all she can do is turn to you and say "Why the fuck are you like this?".

Takeda Takahashi

Picks up the box, sees the teeth, says "Uh, what the fuck?", and puts the box down.

To be honest, his dad keeps some pretty weird stuff around the house, so he's not completely freaked out.

When you tell him that they're fake and that you use them for art crafts, he's like "Prove it. How am I supposed to believe you don't just collect teeth?".

🎵Hell no, to no, no, no, hell to the no.🎵 Jacqui is fucking booking it! She's seen horror movies, and she knows that black people always die first!

She is out the door and halfway down the street before you can ask her where she's going. You text her about what happened and she'll respond "I found the fucking teeth!".

After you reply and say that they're fake and you use them for art projects, she will reappear at your door in 5 minutes and say "If you've got any other freaky shit in here, you better WARN ME!".

Shang Tsung's Mutated Daughter!Reader Gets Merged with Mileena

Separately, both you and Mileena have your own advantages. You have your tentacles, which give you unparalleled versatility, while Mileena has Tarkatan brutality blended with Edenian efficiency.

Really, it would be cruel for Shang Tsung, as a father, to compare to each other, and he's always been careful about not having favourites.

Tsung is wise enough to know that sisterly tensions between you and Mileena have gotten bad in the past and therefore he should do nothing to aggravate the strained relationship.

But a time comes when he finds both you and Mileena on death's door, his two marvelous daughters that he loves more than anything in the world. To his horror, he realises that he cannot save you both.

You've both received horrific injuries, and it occurs to Tsung that if he wants even one of you to recover, he'll have to combine the surviving parts of your bodies.

Now Shang Tsung never planned for this, but it does so happen that both you and Mileena are perfect blood and tissue matches for the other, as Tsung could only had limited genetic samples to work with while making the two of you.

So thankfully, different body parts from both you and Mileena can be mixed and matched so to speak.

However, Tsung has precious little time to plan out whose parts can be used for what, so he decides to just slap bits together and work from there.

He begins with removing your back tentacles and attaching them to Mileena's torso. Your legs and waist are then attached where Mileena's had been lost, with your intestines and spinal cords carefully fused together.

Once he has a completed body, he finally had to decide who's getting the head. Ultimately, whichever brain he decides to use will determine whether you or Mileena will live on. Based on general personality and temperament, he picks you.

So your head is removed from your neck and gently placed onto your sister's torso. The damage your jaw had sustained means that select parts of Mileena's teeth were taken to support the structure of your face and mouth.

When your new body is finally assembled, Tsung stands over you for a moment, surrounded by a pile of discarded blood and guts of his two most treasured creations. He considers for a second that perhaps it would've been kinder to let you and Mileena both die. But he reminds himself that he would be throwing away decades, if not centuries, of meticulous planning, and he goes to fetch some souls to fully awaken you.

Shang Tsung regrets not having time to clean up before reviving you, and awakening from death to see the bloody remnants of your sister's corpse on the floor definitely didn't help adjust you to your new situation.

You stumble in your unfamiliar body towards a mirror. You sob when a face you barely recognise is all that looks back at you. Tsung expects you to be angry. He can handle anger. But he can't in good faith tell you it's all going to be fine. Nothing in the past day has been fine. Nothing about cutting you and Mileena up and stitching you back together has been fine.

You slump to the floor, tentacles wrapping around you like a security blanket. Your hands slide over the fresh stitches that are keeping you together. Your new Tarkatan teeth dig into your lips, and the new sensation does nothing to comfort you.

Maybe one day, when you've had time to come to terms with your new body, you may appreciate how inseparable you and your sister have become, but until then, it's just like being a small, insecure little girl all over again.

Nothin’ On You- Kung Lao x Reader

I wrote this after listening to the song Nothin’ On You by B.o.B. This is very loosely based on the song (meaning I heard the song and this is what I came up with, even if it doesn’t line up). I hope you enjoy it :)

I sat on the sidelines of the fight pit as I watched Kung Lao prepare to fight Cole to help him find his arcana. Kung Lao ran his hand along his hat, something he typically does before he makes his initial strike. He quickly removed his hat and began maneuvering it as a weapon against Cole. Cole dodged the hat before kicking it and switching to offense. He kicked at Kung Lao, which he blocked each time with his hat. After the third kick to his hat, Kung Lao jumped in the air and kicked Cole in the chest. He quickly threw his hat, which caused Cole to fly in the air before hitting the ground. Kung Lao caught his hat midair and immediately placed it back on his head. He made eye contact with me and gave me a wink before coming to sit beside me on the steps.

Cole walked to the side grimacing while looking at his arm. “You okay, Cole?” I asked.

“Yeah, I’m good,” he replied. I nodded before looking at Kung Lao while Liu Kang and Kano were sparring.

I’ve been at Raiden’s temple for about a year and a half. I know what these new champions are going through to find their arcana because I had the same struggle not too long ago. I came in without any martial arts training, so Kung Lao and Liu Kang literally started from scratch with me. The past year, I had really developed a strong friendship with the two of them while we constantly trained. Liu Kang and I were basically inseparable, but my relationship with Kung Lao was different. Obviously we were friends, but I had stronger feelings for him. When I was working on finding my arcana, Kung Lao pushed me constantly and really helped me find my arcana.

“What?” Kung Lao asked when he finally saw me looking at him. My face warmed up and his classic smirk appeared on his face in response.

“Nothing. I just hope they find their arcanas quickly.”

He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me to his side. “Amongst the three of us, they’ll be ready before the tournament.”

“I’d much rather fight that beauty over there,” Kano said confidently as he looked at me.

Kung Lao tightened his hold on me. “You don’t have to fight him, (Y/N),” he whispered so only I could hear.

“If it helps him find his arcana, then I might as well,” I replied as I stood. 

I walked to where Liu Kang stood. “Good luck, (Y/N),” he said as he walked to the steps. 

“I’ll make sure to go easy on you, babe,” Kano teased.

I got into my fighting stance as I prepared for Kano to come at me. He walked up to me and went to grab me. I easily dodged it by stepping to the side. With him out of place, I went to hit him in the back. He turned quickly, like he knew I would, and elbowed me in the stomach. I saw Kung Lao quickly stand. I put a hand up to stop him from doing anything. 

Kano chuckled. “Sorry, I prefer to play rough, babe.”

I rolled my eyes before returning to my starting stance. Kano moved closer to me and went to punch me. I dodged his fist and responded with my own to his nose. 

“Really, cheap shots?” I shrugged my shoulders and prepared to strike.

I ran at him and jumped on his back. He tried to knock me off his back using his elbows. He began backing towards the wall of the pit. I summoned my arcana as he neared the wall. A vine poked through the dirt and wrapped around Kano’s leg. 

“Are you fucking serious?” He growled. I took advantage of his surprise and knocked him to the ground. I summoned more vines to hold down his other leg, his arms, and his neck. He struggled against them before giving up. 

“Surrender?” I asked.

“More turned on than anything,” Kano said with a smirk. “Is this what you, hat boy, and Magic Mike do in your free time?” I scoffed in disgust and walked away from him.

I walked into the infirmary to check on Cole. Liu Kang was treating his wound with acupuncture needles.

“How’s your arm doing?” I asked as I looked over Liu Kang’s shoulder.

“It still hurts, but Liu Kang’s helping quite a bit.”

“I’m glad I wasn’t the only one Kung Lao refused to go easy on.” I rolled up my shorts a little bit to show him the scar on my thigh. “He cut me on my second day of sparring. Liu Kang helped treat the wound.”

“How long after that did it take for you to develop your arcana after that?”

“Nearly a year after.”

Cole let out a sigh. “If the tournament is in a month, then I won’t develop my arcana in time.”

“Cole, it will come. (Y/N), Kung Lao, and I will help you get your arcana in time,” Liu Kang encouraged.

I placed my hand on his good shoulder. “Not everyone’s arcana comes at the same time. It’s more complicated than that,” I explained.

Kung Lao entered the room. I saw his eyes look at my hand on Cole’s shoulder. 

He coughed awkwardly. “Liu, Raiden wants to speak with us.”

“Give me just a moment. I am almost done tending to Cole’s wound,” Liu Kang responded. 

Kung Lao nodded. His gaze fell on my hand again which caused me to quickly take it off Cole’s shoulder.

“Finished,” Liu Kang announced.

“Cole, (Y/N), we will see you tomorrow for training,” Kung Lao said as the two of them went to leave the room.

I turned to Cole. “Don’t let not having your arcana prevent you from discovering it, Cole. Kung Lao and Liu Kang know what they’re doing. I am proof of that. It will come. Trust the process.”

“Thanks, (Y/N). I’ll try.” He stood up and left the room.

I let out a sigh before following suit and leaving myself. I decided I would go relax in the hot springs before I went to bed.

The hot springs were empty when I arrived. I chose a spring and dropped my towel at the edge. I slipped into the water and instantly felt my muscles relax. I closed my eyes as my head fell back and a moan left my lips as I sunk in deeper.

“Ohhh, I didn’t realize I needed this so bad,” I said to myself.

“Is there room for one more?” A familiar voice asked.

“Of course, Kung Lao,” I replied without opening my eyes. I heard him sink into the water. I waited a minute before opening my eyes. I saw Kung Lao looking at me with a smile on his face. A blush crept on my face.  “What?”

“Nothing. I’m just enjoying the hot springs.”

Kung Lao was about two feet away from me. I decided to move closer to him. I laid my head on his shoulder once I was beside him. I looked out into the array of hot springs, and Kung Lao wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

“What did Raiden want to speak to you and Liu Kang about?”

“He’s afraid the new champions will not be ready in time.”

“I think they will. Raiden knows just as well as you and I that this is a process.” 

“You’re right. It took you a year to get yours,” he teased.

I chuckled. “It only took ten months.”

“Yeah, only.”

I playfully hit him. “Well at least mine is cooler than a lame hat.”

“If I remember correctly, that lame hat is what helped you get your lame vines.”

“The vines aren’t lame.” Kung Lao smiled and chuckled. “Kano seemed to be impressed by them.”

The smile on his face quickly left and his jaw tightened. “I didn’t think you’d be the type who wanted to impress him.”

Without completely thinking it through, I decided to keep teasing him. “You know? I’m actually a sucker for an Australian accent.”

“And what about his awful personality?”

“Besides the accent, he’s not really my type.”

His face changed. A smirk crossed his face instead. “And what exactly is your type?”

I sat back and thought for a second. “There is this guy who helped train me that I’ve really got my eye on. It’s hard to even think about anybody else because he is just that great.” 

I looked up at him. He looked back at me for a minute or two before glancing at my lips. I decided to close the space between us. Our lips connected and there felt like a small burst of electricity. Our lips moved in perfect, synchronized movements. I pulled away to catch my breath. 

“Kung Lao, I really like you.”

“I really like you, too, (Y/N).”

“I want to see where this goes because I feel a real connection with you. It’s different from the ones I have with Liu Kang, Cole, and any other guy I’ve met. ” I could feel myself beginning to ramble. Kung Lao silenced my rambling by kissing me again.

“Let’s just see where this goes and we’ll move from there. Okay?”

I nodded. “Okay.”

I’m so happy they finally showed that side of her. I’m certain fans love her as much as I do, and I just know the adoration has increased now. 

Vulnerability

Vulnerability was not in her nature.

- It meant weakness and the certainty of death not just by the rules of her realm, but by her genetic makeup.

Her blood sizzled at the mere thought of laying helpless beneath another being as the Tarkatan red that flowed within her fought with everything it had to react as she always had.

It was instinct to attack, however, her heart fought back with the same fury, having something more wedged within it that could be not sedated by all the bloodshed she could bring forth to her foes.

She hadn't known what tenderness was before (f/n) taught her. Much more, before the (h/c) haired young woman, Mileena hadn't realized how much she yearned for it.

It was a craving she hadn't known she had until she got a small sample of it. Much more, it was strange to think so, but there was a part of her that wanted to be small, and that same existing piece within her wanted to be weak and kept beneath (f/n).

Slowly, the (e/c) eyed woman's eyes fluttered close as her nose gently trailed down the tender skin of her lover's neck, gently descending her lips onto the skin with a sweetness that rivaled sugar.

" I love you," she said softly, truly meaning it, soon after feeling the woman beneath her begin to take a deep, forced, gulp.

"And I...I...you…" Mileena responded back, shuttering at all the kind presses that fell over her.

She could feel her heart race and her mind fog while her flesh was being conquered.

The sheets beneath her were fisted tight as a trail of kisses led down to her naked chest, small, nimble fingers working over skin that had a little quiver to it.

" You are so nervous," (f/n) said in what was a small musing tone that sounded entertained by all of the little reactions the normally merciless woman expressed.

"....Enough," The hybrid outworlder said with her raspy voice being shaved of its typical viciousness.

It was a foreign way of speaking to her and it made it all the more humiliating, yet tantalizing.

'She sounds so sweet… ' (f/n) thought to herself while exited by the beautiful body that lay beneath her. 'I never would have thought she'd be so… vulnerable,' she added, knowing that perhaps she was the only one to have ever witnessed such a sight.

' Love… it's made me so weak…' the dark-haired empress thought with dismay, yet,  not wanting to trade the affection for anything else in the world.

‘ I...Somehow I am everything you desire: The only thing you truly cherish.

Even with being an....an abomination...

You’d never turn from me.

And that is more than I could ever ask of anyone,’ She thought while knowing she had not just (f/n)’s loyalty, but her awe and gaze.
