((From Margo Rutherford!)) ☽ - a memory of their father
Gilneas, Year 10
Sitting atop his home in Gilneas City, young Damien, no older than seven years old, stared up at the sky with his father, Miles. One of the few nights in the kingdom where the rain had subsided and the clouds parted revealing the starry night sky. The young Gilnean never quite understood why his father enjoyed sitting on the roof but nevertheless Damien enjoyed the times he got to sit with him.
“Do you see that cluster of stars right there?” Miles pointed upwards and then looked to his son.
Damien leaned over to follow where he was pointing, “Mhmm.”
“That’s the dragon constellation. You can tell by how those stars right there are laid out to form the wings.”
“Whoa, I see it! That is so cool!” Damien beamed before looking at other stars and then pointing at another cluster, “What about those stars?”
Miles squinted up where his son was pointing and pursed his lips as he examined the stars, “I don’t think that is a constellation.” he paused briefly before continuing, “but if you look just over to the right of there, see those stars? That is the raven constellation. That’s my favorite.”
Damien spent the next hour or so sitting with his father watching the stars and looking for constellations, as well as asking which way led to Lordaeron and Stormwind, curious about both places since his father was from the latter and did a lot of work in former. Eventually it got late enough where Miles decided it was time to head inside as Damien needed to head for bed since he had school the next day.
(Thanks for the ask @margorutherford ! I also realized that apparently sitting on rooftops is just a Ward thing now. Dard did it with his father, and now does it with his daughter.)
