“Michael! Michael!” Miles shouted as he saw his partner in the distance. The forest of Takodana were thick, and he tried keeping up. It felt like he was going further and further away from him. His throat was dry, begging for water as he inhaled the thick air.

He wanted to be with him again and apologize for disappearing. He didn’t mean to get separated and go off and do his own thing. His team was on the planet, Michael didn’t need to fear what was after them anymore. He didn’t need to run from his past.

When Miles reached the clearing and saw the familiar brown cloak. That alone was enough to pump the remaining adrenaline through his veins for the final stretch.

“Michael!” he cried out his name and he turned with the most awe-struck face he had ever seen.

“Miles!” Michael ran towards him, wrapping his strong arms around his lanky body. Miles held on tightly around Michael’s shoulders, his face buried deep in the crook of his neck smelling the ragged, cotton brown fabric and the gunmetal smell of his hair and skin.

“I thought they got to you,” Michael admitted as he pulled away, placing his hands on Miles’ chest.

“No, I managed to escape. I needed to get back to you.” Miles breathed as he looked into Michael’s eyes.

Miles leaned in to kiss him, his eyes closing.

The ground shook, a loud bomb-like noise was heard in the distance. They separated quickly, Michael pulling out his lightsaber in preparation.

They have arrived.
