Milestone Performance
I have always loved the tehatre, but never thought of actually doing it. I used to be in band. I know, crazy right? I was supposed to be in Advanced Band II my Freshmen year, however, the administration messed up my schedule. Instead of band, I was put into Beginning Dramatic Arts I. I was furious. But my parents told me to give it a chance, so I stayed with it. The first two years were a lot of fun, but I wasn't passionate about it. Our theatre teacher and director of 20+ years retired and we got a new teacher this year. He just graduated BYU-ID. Seeing his drive and passion for tehatre and music, made me realize what I wanted to do with the rest of my life: Musical Theatre. So, this year, I have been working extremely hard to widen my vocal range (which is now Tenor-Soprano), and to improve my acting skills. We ust did a "Milestone Performance" yesterday. We had to perform something that we have never done before, or play character that we have never performed as. I decided to do "My Party Dress" from Henry and Mudge. I played a ittle girl singign about what she wants to do when she is older and about what she does now. I dressed up in a pink dress with a huge bow on the side, high pigtails with bows, high knee blue socks, and splatter paint converse. That is the most fun I've ever had performing. My class loved it and I am definitely adding that song to my audition binder.
