Three distant Military Macaws were observed flying near twilight on the lower east slopes of the Andes in northern Ecuador at 5:37 PM on October 6, 2019. The Military Macaw belongs to the family Psittacidae and is found in Mexico and in South America in Colombia and Venezuela south through Ecuador, Perú, and Bolivia to extreme nortwestern Argentina. This is Pigeon but we call all him Pidge, he is my boyfriend's military macaw. He is super loud, yells a lot. Likes to break everything he touches. Will try to nibble fingers, toes, ears, faces, hoodies, pillows, sofas anything he can get his beak on. He unclipped my nose ring once and it took me ages to clip it back in. He likes to sit on kneecaps and shoulders. Will scream at people who walk past the house when he's sat on the windowsill. Loves having a shower. He can be very cheeky but he is super photogenic and I love him.
