some perdita-verse deities :) Barrak is the Creator of souls, and the first diety; He, while not 100% in charge of souls, knows everything about every soul he’s ever created. He gifted the other deities (Aside from Airu) some of his power, which they in turn used to create things, and shape the universe. Barrak’s control over physical things is very limited.  Really his one thing is “Hi i made souls which grant people consciousness :)” and it’s lowkey gone to his head lmao. He made the self proclaimed “Star Children”, the proto-Faeries who lived in Barrak’s domain before the Cymbrik Mother’s rise. (After her appearance, they were all cast out and ‘fell’, becoming the Fae most know now, bound by rules and magic.) Airu is the Goddess of Death; She controls the realm of souls who have passed, and do not wish to return. (Although she’s very specific about who /does/ get to return if they want. While a soul can change, some she trusts so little that she refuses to let them return to the realm of the living.) Most do not return to life, as most are content to spend the rest of eternity among their loved ones :> She and Barrak have a rather... tense relationship, as Barrak is now rather self centered and wants more “power” over other things, while Airu is more “down to earth” and sees herself as more of a servant to the dead, as opposed to a, well, god. Airu’s “Children” are the Kous; She shaped them to be able to interact easily with everyone else creations, able to mimic their societies and forms, although her attempt to help them get along may have backfired in some ways :C Aaaand Hireth; Most religions cut her out, but those who include her are often torn on her. Most refer to her as “The Indebted”, but refuse to agree if she is in debt to Barrak, or if Barrak is indebted to her...

(Story spoilers under the cut, kinda. Also talk about death/dying)

So Hireth is what is called “An Immortal Soul”  Due to other, very bad deities wrong doings, Barrak’s inability/refusal to interact with things on the physical plane, and Airu being too busy to, Barrak and Airu worked together to try and find a solution (most of the other dieties are either too busy or adopted Barrak’s “Well i’m a god I can’t just dink around with the mortal plane!!” mentality.) to other gods mucking with mortal things - Barrak made a set of souls that Airu was forbidden from allowing to enter her realm until they completed a specific set of tasks. They were all given the option to opt out, but most didn’t. (being new souls and all, they didn’t exactly know much of the world) Hireth is one of the only few who /hasn’t/ completed her Task. In her defense, her Task is to KILL A DIETY. Really Barrak. Really.  (Airu had nothing to do with this one)  The main problem with being continuously reincarnated is that while Hireth knows that there’s something she’s supposed to be doing, she’s not 100% sure what it is. Which makes Barrak mad, but hey, give Hireth her memories if you want her to kill a diety, k? Airu very much wants to allow her to just, well, uh. Die? as Hireth has confided in her between lives that she no longer wants to do this, but Barrak won’t let her :C her eyes are also a very, very specific green, if you can figure out who it is,,, plz let me know XD

here’s a bunch of perdita sketches i’m probably not going to finish haha 1 - Ixyl’s uncle, Daxyn. This was mostly just to get some marking ideas down :> He’s a carpenter and lost his ear to one of the massive predatory birds that live around the mountains.  2- While she eventually dropped the mad part, Ixyl did become a scientist haha 3 - Ogee is not subtle and is bad at keeping secrets.
