The Raven, The Vulture, and The Bluebirds
Non-wings /eyes version below as well (cus I kinda felt it was a bit much when I started adding them in)
It can barely be considered morning rn, but I'm thinking of Felix Virgil parallels as one does. And this may become one of many sketches that may never see this place, but the fucking symbolism of how their bluebird manifests and who that bluebird is, is fuck me up rn.
Cause for Felix it's Beatrice, it's his mom, his familiar, and there's an argument for Milo too. His bluebird is a symbol of hope and freedom and potential and love so so so much unconditional love.
For Virgil, the bluebird is also Beatrice Ackerman, its Felix and Milo, and it's also Jericho. Virgil's bluebirds are, for the most part, unattainable. Something to observe from afar, to appreciate in rare moments, it's love unrequited, freedom unobtainable, a future, a life, he'll never have. Something he gets for just a second with Beatrice, only for it to be ripped away by fate.
So... The fact that Jericho is a caged bluebird. That's fucking brilliant on Mikey's part. A thrice broken heart and demonic transformation really does something to a man, and GODS is it fucked up!
I don't know, something about Felix never needing to search for love because he always had it in abundance and Virgil never being able to truly obtain it so he manufactures and cages it when given the chance.
Modern day Ackermans
I was trying some new things and took to drawing my favorite doomed siblings, not 100% sold on how it turned out I specifically feel Felix is staring at me but whatever…
yap to me about dawn song
Oh, well it's a Legends of Avantris fic, so probably not of interest to you, sorry. Uhh, there was only one on the whole list that wasn't because the hyperfixation is strong with that one particular DND stream 😅
Basically it's from the POV of the mother to one of the PC's on the evening before meeting the father of her second child (little brother to that PC). It contains smut because she's a prostitute, but with a different 'client' that delays their meeting, and the father is a very important (arguably the most important) NPC from that campaign
The player was inspired by Wirt and Beatrice from Over the Garden Wall for his PC and gave him a bluebird familiar named after his mother
The character is themed around a bluebird, and I wrote in another fic the father waking up from an exposition dream about her past (which I made up because there's nothing canon except her name and vague cause of death lol) given to him by his Goddess (The Raven Queen) to the sound of the dawn song of bluebirds, so that's why it's called Dawn Song because it's supposed to be a prequel to that fic
Mayhaps milo
Crack idea for neon odyssey.
Symbiote Esper Milo Ackerman, but the symbiote is an aspect of Virgil.
Felix is not happy about this. Milo is humored by this, both Felix's suffering and the assumed control over a demon. Virgil is more than happy to slightly antagonize (his presence does this) Felix if it makes Milo laugh.
Ya know wholesome family activities that could never go wrong, and no one is hunting them to be weapons ever! :)
My favorite late night activity is coming up with insane aus nobody else but me cares about so here goes: spoilers for the ending of CoS and just general BDW lore
Kind of a mix and match of two earlier posts but what if Beatrice saved up her money so she could ditch stryga after Milo was born and ended up living out in Yona.
What if she heard tale that a bunch of people from skatreneil (zketreniel?) one day up and left for Yona and live in a human settlement out in the plains, what if she took her children and ran off to the human settlement by rattlesnake.
She gets there and is scared or being turned away, shes chorovachian after all, what id they don’t want the likes of her around? But the barovians would never shun a woman and her children, much leas their gracious Shepherd.
Beatrice settles in a small home, gets to live a simple normal life and not die of a fever. Gets to see her children grow.
Im on the fence about this but why not go all out? Fuck it Sarnax lives too.
After the events of CoS he’s pretty hurt and doesn’t want to go back to his cult so he follows Shepherd back to Yona where they settle together. Whenever Beatrice arrives he is interested to see another strygan running from their home.
Sarnax and beatrice don’t talk much, sarnax and felix whoever, oh boy.
The boy is just so curious about everything, he sits down and lisents to Sarnax’s preachings and even asks questions, sure other people have come to hear the word of Gherix once or twice, Sarnax always makes time to teach Tommy some of the religion but Felix is simply drawn to the faith like moth to flame.
This leads to many things, im unsure if whether Tommy should be closer to Milo’s age or to Felix’s but either way he sees the ackerman boys like siblings of his own, or like cousins. They spend an awful lot of time together and are practically inseparable.
Tommy of course grows to be a gunslinger/monster slayer like his dad, i think Felix would end up being a wizard either way but still leaning heavily on the faith of gherix (mechanically maybe a cleric/wizard but idk) and Milo should be an artist, i just what him to be happy.
Anyways, eventually Victoria sends a letter to shep about how shes planning a visit because of something the Raven Queen said to her, she arrives in rattlesnake and to his surprise the woman she had heard Shepherd talk to her about is the same woman she was sent to look for.
Victoria is there because of Milo of course, she knows there is something big coming and Milo being removed from the equation all together changes a lot of things, shes not going to kidnap the kid obviously but goes to warn Beatrice of what is coming.
Whatever happens, happens but i think Felix goes back to stryga under the guide of Gherix and that’s how he meets the usual bdw crew or something idk.
Anyways,,, that was my brain being crazy byeeee
