MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
“You don’t have to struggle in silence. You can be un-silent. You can live well with a mental health condition, as long as you open up to somebody about it.” - Demi Lovato
What Does Mental Illness Awareness Mean to you?
It means knowing that mental illness affects not only people, but everyone, from friends and relatives to whole populations, no matter how simple or complex.
Awareness of mental illness involves acceptance and love instead of judgment and embarrassment; it means an end to discrimination and the beginning of hope.
Knowledge of mental health means that mental health is not only accepted as necessary, but we are talking about it, bringing it out there so that people who feel too much can get support they need.
Mental health awareness increases the possibility of early treatment, which can lead to a fast recovery. Knowledge reduces the negative adjectives that have been built to describe our people with a metal disease. By spreading awareness, mental health will now be seen as a disease. These diseases may be treated through medication.
We use various forms of media to reach out about news, learn new stuff, and educate ourselves. With technological advances, we can choose the type media that we want to use, no matter the time or location. So, when driving to work, we can hear the radio, watch our favorite show on our phone, and we can find out some details and news on our laptop or mobile device via the Internet. Who knows where technology will take us in the future.
Media is the concept that we are using to apply to different forms of media that provide most of the valuable knowledge and information. Media has always been part of our culture, even when people used paintings and writing to exchange knowledge. When technology continued, people came up with a number of ability to introduce information to the public. Depending on the type of medium, their purpose can be different, but they all exist to connect to the audience and to influence their opinions.
