I took a vacation day today because I had to take my cat to the vet for neutering and I wanted to spend some of the day with my sister because it is her birthday tomorrow. We're the same age and three months apart and I consider her one of my best friends.

I ended up checking my messages in the process and found a request to go on a date with a person that I met through a party and who I really vibed with. I was excited and mentioned to my sister that the person used 'they/them' pronouns and went into the regular informing of what those pronouns mean. I use they at work but not with my family because it isn't a safe situation to do so. I explained to my sister that folks use this pronoun for all sorts of reasons including if they're trans or nonbinary. The person and I didn't really get into why they used those particular pronouns when we first met, but I know that they identify as nonbinary. Unfortunately, upon hearing that folks who are trans and/or nonbinary use them, my sister immediately blurted, "Eww! No! No. Don't go on a date." And my heart sunk.

I'm still going to go on a date but I was hoping to share how excited I was about it with a family member. And so I'm just really sad about this.

I saw Coco for a second time yesterday and it still is one of the most stunningly beautiful movies that I've seen in a long time.

Of course, because it was my second time, there were details that I hadn't noticed during my first time watching it. In the ofrenda room, there's a short scene where Miguel's Abuelita talks to Coco and Coco asks her, "Who are you?"

Then there's another scene towards the end of the movie. After Miguel makes it back home and sings to Coco, Coco asks her daughter why she is crying and calls Abuelita by her name or by hija (I can't remember) but Abuelita remembers her!

And it just makes me cry harder at that scene.

Of all the origin stories, I think I've enjoyed the Dwarf Noble beginning playthrough the best so far. Lol playing Dragon Age Origins is the only thing I've wanted to do all say but now I'm too tired and want to sleep. It also makes me want to try and draw the Wardens that I've created. So far, I have:

Ramira - City Elf

Futura - Human Mage

Noreyni - Dwarf Noble

Joya - Human Noble

Still haven't finished the game because I wanted to play through some of the beginning origin lines first. I think I'll probably go through finishing the game as either Dwarf or Human Noble.
