Be like the Mimosa: stand tall, rest well, and keep growing even when the world says it wants you destroyed. There is no greater satisfaction than spreading your leaves toward the sky while the rest of the world weeps at the chaos you leave in your wake.
Mimosa Trees in Bloom
After we had gotten finished exploring the remains of the basement of the house that was destroyed during the tornado, we had spotted a small grove of Mimosa trees standing nearby. I ran straight for the trees and immediately sniffed the fuzzy pink flowers. What can I say? I love mimosa trees! The flowers' scent almost remind me of bananas in a way.
This is in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
Trees and Tea and All This Affection
Me and my roommate are getting Bonsai trees. There are seeds coming in the mail; they are maple trees and they are going to grow into a tiny little garden and we might have 5-7 of them eventually. I'm really more excited about this than I understand why.
Also I want to get us a Mimosa tree, because so far, Roommate says no pets allowed, because she would have to be responsible for them over breaks. I want African Aquatic Dwarf Frogs so bad, but I can't convince her yet. Maybe someday.
I just want things to love and care for, because it makes me less self-involved and sad. And I think all the plant life and greenery and oxygen in our room will be good for our moods, as well as my writing. That and tea, lots of tea, mostly chamomile.
I submitted to ThoughtCatalog again, even though I'm sure I won't get in. But I'm proud of this piece this time. I was going to post it on my blogspot blog but can't for fear someone would read it who knows the people involved and could piece the actual situation together.
Meds have been upped and so far it's been good and I've been writing more, even if it's bad.
Mimosa trees bend and curl when you touch them, like my dog when I scratch behind her ears and it seems so loving and affectionate somehow that I just feel that I really need one, does that make sense?
