Being in love is was stupidly complicatedthing.
Day in and day out, thoughts of thatspecial person would appear in one’s mind, even when completing the mostmundane of tasks. They would cause one toworry constantly when their special person wouldn’t (or forgot to) leave any word as to where they headed, or if they’d even come back.
For Sejin, he built his life around love.
She was the one and only person in his life that he believed he was able to please, her happiness and satisfaction being his greatest accomplishments. Admittedly, he got too comfortable in his position as her husband, believing that she would act on and share the same beliefs in what he considered love. Loyalty being of top priority.
It wasn’t the first time he encountered such a traumatic sight, that being of his wife with another man. But being able to place blame on the alcohol provided some relief. While things have appeared to have gotten better since, his insecurities remained at a heightened state. This time, however, it appeared that there was no way to accuse outside forces on influencing the actions. It was just the two of them in the equation. Still wanting to give his wife the benefit of the doubt, he looped that specific section of the security reel, critically analyzing the situation that played out. The man she had cheated with was practically everything he was not, and the embodiment of all things he hated about most other men. He was young, extremely handsome, and straightforward. These were but only a few of the very things he both envied and hated.
It didn’t help to keep watching, and only further ingrained his feelings of inferiority. If he couldn’t please the very person he would sacrifice everything for, then what was the purpose of his life anymore? Coincidentally, Minyee had yet to arrive home despite it having been as late as it was. Already on edge, Sejin began to panic and fear for the worst. Images of the other man’s vile hands touching and violating her were all that appeared in his head.
Was he happy? Or better yet, was she?
Sejin took a deep breath as the door unlocked, preparing himself for the confrontation to occur the minute the woman entered.
Whatever was happening behind his back, had to come to an end.
